• Rep. Hanna: Please Cosponsor the New House Immigration Bill
House Democrats have broken Speaker John Boehner's deadlock and introduced an immigration bill with a pathway to citizenship for the 11 million without papers. So far, over 190 members of Congress have signed on as cosponsors! But in order to get this bill past the finish line, we're going to need more Republican support. Your district's representative in the House, Congressman Richard Hanna, is part of the group of House Republicans who are open to immigration reform. His support for this new bill could be the tipping point for our movement. If he becomes a part of the growing group of Republicans who have already cosponsored this bill, we know more of his colleagues in his party will build up the courage to follow. We know Rep. Hanna is ready to listen to you and our movement. We already have a good bill waiting in the House, and we just need to get Rep. Hanna to stand by all immigrants -- not just some. He needs to join the more than 190 House members and cosponsor this new immigration bill! We need you and other advocates in your district to pressure Rep. Hanna into supporting this bill. If we get Rep. Hanna on board, your district could make all the difference for the millions without papers across the nation. The momentum is on our side because enough votes exist in the House to pass reform today. But instead Speaker Boehner hides behind excuses, delays, and flat-out refuses to give us a vote. We've come too far to stop now. Tell Rep. Hanna to stand up for all immigrants by cosponsoring this new immigration bill in the House and passing the path to citizenship for the 11 million!

  • Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers Don't Publish Climate Denial
Newspapers need to stop publishing letters that deny climate change. Florida insurers, among the most conservative of business people in America, KNOW that climate change is real and are charging high rates because our state is in serious danger of coastal flooding due to the complex factors of climate change.

  • Rep. Heck: Please Cosponsor the New House Immigration Bill
House Democrats have broken Speaker John Boehner's deadlock and introduced an immigration bill with a pathway to citizenship for the 11 million without papers. So far, over 180 House Democrats have signed on as cosponsors! But in order to get this bill past the finish line, we're going to need Republican support. The good news is that it's there. Your district's representative in the House, Congressman Joe Heck, is part of a group of Republicans who are open to immigration reform. His support for this new bill could be the tipping point for our movement. If he becomes a part of the growing group of Republicans who have already cosponsored this bill, we know more of his colleagues in his party will build up the courage to follow. However, Rep. Heck supports legalization for the 11 million-- "as long as a bill includes strict border and visa enforcement”—but has not taken a stance on citizenship. But that's simply not enough. We already have a good bill waiting in the House, and the time for vagueness is over. Rep. Heck needs to instead stand for all aspiring Americans by joining the more than 180 House members and cosponsoring this new immigration bill! We need you and other advocates in your district to pressure Rep. Heck into supporting this bill. If we get Rep. Heck on board, your district could make all the difference for the millions without papers across the nation. The momentum is on our side because enough votes exist in the House to pass reform today. But instead Speaker Boehner hides behind excuses, delays, and flat-out refuses to give us a vote. We've come too far to stop now. Tell Rep. • [To my local newspaper]: Don't Publish Climate Denial
Newspapers need to stop publishing letters that deny climate change. The scientific community has accepted the reality of man made climate change and the dire consequences for all.

  • Parents who want to OPT OUT of BREAKFAST IN THE CLASSROOM
We do not believe that any child should go hungry. We do believe there is a better way to offer breakfast to those children who need it. We also believe in the rights of parents to be able to choose what their children are eating, when they are eating it, and to provide a clean and healthy place to learn. We also believe that taking instructional time OUT of the classroom to run a program that could be run before school in a proper eating environment is NOT an option. Please sign this petition to let the LAUSD know that we need to fix the major flaws of the Breakfast in the Classroom program and put the focus in the classroom back on education.

  • Middle Class Mortgage Assistance Fairness
I am one of the people that have been harmed by this unfair practice. I have applied for modifications and have not had any positive results. I have seen people with no jobs receive help, banks received help, people in all financial situations got help which is great, but the middle class is getting left out. Home values in certain areas are almost back to their pre crisis prices, but home values in other areas are not going up. Principal reductions would level the playing field and keep people from walking away from mortgages as well as strengthen areas often left out behind.

  • USA Cycling: Move Cyclocross National Championships Back to December
The move of the USA Cycling cyclocross National Championships from December into January has made it difficult for many competitors to attend. By being held in the winter in the US, the options for a suitable host location are also limited. Travel during the winter months is also made more difficult by the potential adverse weather conditions. All of these factors combined with the date being right after the holidays makes the move of the race from December to January, counterproductive.

  • Tell Kansas lawmakers, "Vote NO" on Fast Track for Obama
When global corporations get everything they want, the rest of us lose. That's the rest of the globe, not just the 99% in America. The Obama Administration is currently negotiating, in secret, a massive so-called "free" trade agreement called the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). TPP leaks indicate that this agreement will greatly empower corporations by virtually eliminating consumer, health, safety, labor, privacy and environmental regulations. In essence, this will be a global corporate coup. In order to speed approval through congress, President Obama will be asking Congress to approve "Fast Track" legislation, giving him ability to sign before Congress sees the agreement. Tell your Kansas Congressional lawmakers, Senators and Representatives alike, to vote "NO" on "Fast Track" legislation.

  • Rescind all Obamacare laws immediately
We have seen nothing but absolute failures in this law. It makes no sense, costs too much money and does not solve any problems! Why was it ever even passed? Let's just realize it is a total failure and get rid of it immediately. We can revisit healthcare reform once Obamacare is gone!
