• Hiring Educated African American Women
This petition is being started because I have been trying to get a decent job at least 20 years or more. I have a MS from the State University of Buffalo at New York. My female friends all have degrees. I have several African American female friends who have tried to secure jobs/at companies and colleges of course the companies and the colleges gave excuses. Your to short , your to tall not smart enough. My daughter Tolley R. PhD graduated from TSU recently and she can't secure a job they say she is over qualified or you need more training. Now please come on another way of derailing us Black women That's crape. All us Black women know that it is just another way to keep us poor and out of the people's system. They want to say we weren't looking and that's a lie. I have spoken to many of the women and it's the same with all of us.Something has be done about this issue. . We want to be separate from civil rights and locked down with the minority stuff. Put us Black women aside from all of that and you'll see they never hire none of us. I'm disgusted with this type of system greedy and not allowing others to made a decent living. doing things. They would rather hire a handicap person to do the job than a Black educated female. This rotten system has got to change. One group of people can't have everything.

  • Progressive countries invest in the health of every citizen
The Affordable Healthcare Act has likely already saved the US hundreds of thousands of dollars and ensured better quality of life for many youth up to the age of 26. Yet this and other initiatives to prioritize the health of our citizens is being undercut for the financial gain of those who have at their disposal every healthcare advantage available. Prioritizing policy this way brings with it the disdain of our global neighbors who incredulously watch as thousands of US citizens struggle for access to basic care. This is shameful. The capitalistic roadblocks threatening to block access to healthcare for all US citizens must be removed.

  • Seattle Times: Don't Publish Climate Denial
Newspapers need to stop publishing letters that deny climate change. Climate change is a reality; not fiction. There are many scientists declaring climate change is happening at a rapid pace. There would be more scientists, but for fear of losing their jobs, those scientists are being silenced or told to debunk climate change.

  • CBS: Tell Obamacare success stories like mine!
I am partially disabled, physically & with Clinical Depression. Having lived in WA. State, I recieved miniscule state assistance and Medicaid. I moved to CA. to live with my fiance and enrolled in the state's ACA plan while I awaited my SSI. Had I not had Obamacare until Feb. 2013, mt medical costs would have bankrupted us. The Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, has been under attack by mainstream media for more than three weeks now. What the media isn't telling you are the millions of success stories like mine.

  • WJXT: Tell Obamacare success stories like ours!
I have been fighting and an advocate for affordable healthcare. Losing both children to Cystic Fibrosis and our son Chris at 18 years old I understand the importance of affordable health care is. What a blessing it would have been for our family. We lived scared and saw many families where they just said "no" to covering preexisting illness. Lifting the cap on coverage and so many just do not get it. Thanks to President Obama for fighting for this because I have been an advocate for and this is a great tribute to our son. The Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, has been under attack by mainstream media for more than three weeks now. Walhat the media isn't telling you are the millions of success stories like mine.

  • Bay Area Tell Walmart: Decent Pay, Not Handouts!
Shocking! Earlier this week, news broke that in Ohio Walmart has been holding a food drive, asking its employees to donate to their hungry coworkers. I have a better idea for Walmart: Pay your workers enough to feed their families. But there is hope for change! Around the country Walmart workers are standing up and across the country they even went on strike for their right to speak out about issues like their low-wages without fear of Walmart retaliating against them. Workers and their supporters plan to hold protests at 1,500 Walmart stores around the country and in the Bay Area this Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving and the “Superbowl of Retail.” Sign my petition calling on Walmart to stop relying on other people’s generosity to support its low-road business model.

  • Open all bridges to Holiday travelers
Anyone crossing into Mexico or Canada must cross at an International bridge or tunnel. During the major holidays, traffic coming and going into the United States is severely impacted and on occasion, individuals have been killed due to the unsafe conditions on our roadways. These crossings belong to the people, not the politicians. By signing this petition you will not only help us speed up border crossings but also show that we "can" control our destiny.
