Without the Affordable Health Care legislation, I would have not been able to find health care after having an operation for cancer and having my insurance company drop my coverage. This safeguard is so necessary.

This petition was created to get the attention needed to address the environmental and economic problems with the Port of New Hampshire. The port is in desperate need of repair and is currently underutilized for its attributes. Our hopes with this petition is to show state legislators the need for their intervention and oversight to make the Port something we all can be proud of.

I believe that the health epidemics that our country is facing are related to and influenced by the contents and nutritional value of our foods. It is the right of the consumer to know the contents of the foods he/she consumes and the responsibility of the companies that manufacture those foods to communicate those contents through transparent labeling of the products they sell.

The production and sale of animal skins is morally wrong and inhumane, causing millions of innocent animals to be slaughtered every year in the name of fashion in the most cruel of ways, even skinned alive. Animal skins should be banned from the United States completely and fur farms shut down for good. Animals should be protected and seen as creatures who suffer and feel instead of fashion items.

Americans need to make a stand against global corporations who play state-against-state to receive higher tax breaks, while paying workers as little as possible. Boeing, with stock at a record high and after giving CEO Jim McNerney a 20 percent salary increase to a package totaling $27.5 million last year, is not in need of corporate welfare. The future of skilled American jobs are at stake. Tell Boeing that we've had enough!

As a person with a child, I understand having responsibilities to someone other than myself. We have a right to know what we are feeding our children, not to mention ourselves. I demand disclosure on the presence of GMOs in my child's food. Let us join our voices in demanding this basic right to know.

Dear CEO's: This is to inform you that because of your actions of extending Black Friday onto Thanksgiving day, the below signers are pledging not to shop in your stores the whole Thanksgiving weekend! It is outrageous that people who are payed a low wage, some of whom do not get holiday pay, have to leave their families to work in department stores, so Black Friday madness can be extended to Thanksgiving day. (Will we now have people trampled to death on Thanksgiving day?) Thanksgiving should be a time for employees and for consumers to give thanks, not for corporations to squeeze out more profit. We have a right to know if the foods we are buying have GMOs in them. In more than 60 countries around the world there are significant restrictions or outright bans on the production and sale of GMOs. Tell the South Carolina legislature to give us freedom to know what we are putting in our bodies.

Energy production in the USA is critical to support our commerce and economic systems. It has become a matter of national security as well. It is imperative that we catch up to the advancement in green electrical production by other countries - like Germany among others - which are successfully generating a large percentage of their electricity this way. Not only is this a necessary economic solution but it is also a much needed advancement in the reduction of pollutants that aggravate Global Warming. It is also necessary in order to reduce the danger that nuclear power plants pose to the survival of the species.
