• President Obama: Lift the Travel Embargo on Cuba
The Embargo has been driven by a corrupt Cartel in Miami that profits from it secretly and which is made up of the remnants of the Batista Dictatorship that Fidel Castro overthrew. There are terrorist living in Miami who have killed dozens of innocent people and who have been given protection by members of Congress and past GOP Administrations.

  • Increase Allowable ($3000) Long-Term Capital (Schedule D) Losses That Can Be Declared Each Year O...
A maximum of $3000 can be declared in long-term capital losses each year on tax returns. Given downturns in the economy over the last decade or more, individuals were impacted and significant losses incurred in many cases. I personally carry a year to year long-term capital loss carryover. It will take me a number of years to reduce the declared loss carryover to zero given we are allowed a maximum of $3000 each year which we can declare and deduct. Raising this allowable annual limit will benefit seniors on fixed incomes (I draw the line at 65+ only because that is where I am at) and improve individual tax returns.

  • Real Estate Appraiser Independence
Most of you don't know, but the banks control the valuation process. In 2008 the NY AG Cuomo passed the home valuation code of conduct (HVCC) which despite it's name gave the banks and the GSE's total control of the valuation process under the Martin law. This was instituted to take away appraiser independence. This despite the fact that Cuomo found massive mortgage fraud including the banks black lists where appraisers that would not hit value went. The banks now own the appraisal profession and have control of the value of your home. Up or down. They have privatized the appraisal profession so they can take 50% of the fees. ATM. Naturally the banks don't want to hire experienced appraisers because they will not work for these fees. So the most inept and the greatest money makers for the banks get the appraisal assignments - ie... the most inexperienced and least competent because they can control them and the valuations. In a free market banks would not own appraisers and could not compromise independent opinion. This is happening to your and my hurt. Sale fail? You see a bubble happening? Vacant homes in your neighborhood not being taken care of? Directly and indirectly your purse is getting emptied. Do not trust the banks or this housing "recovery". When they have absolute power over the valuation process - it corrupts absolutely. Been there

  • Repeal illegal WI. State Parks hunting law
This petition was written by the Wisconsin Safe Parks group with members across Wisconsin. Please put your county on the sign in page or in the comment square. All 72 counties In WI voted to allow hunting in State Parks at the WCC meeting in April 2011. Yet 6 months later, without a public hearing, the assembly snuck in amendments to AB311 that allowed hunters to share the same space as all other recreational users... in most areas... of each state park in Wisconsin...for more than 7 months. This violates WI law 19.81 because "...a representative government of the American type is dependent upon an informed electorate....the public is entitled to the ... most complete information regarding the affairs of government..." 19.97 says ..."any action taken ...in violation of this subchapter is voidable..." This concern has strong bipartisan support from the most conservative to the most liberal constituents. State parks are used year round by many people for many reasons. Most hunters are against sharing hunting space in State Parks and the subsequent liability. People have a right to be safe when using State Parks that have been paid for with taxes, donations and volunteer hours. This law curtails each State Park's ability to manage plants, animals and people effectively. The pro hunting DNR board with diminishing relevant knowledge and experiences in biology and botany unfortunately make the decisions under Act 168

  • Voting Irregularities in Waukesha County, WI
Votes in Waukesha County have been under scrutiny for several elections. Some people went to jail, some are barred from holding the Clerk's office, but things have not changed. The judges in power are there because of these tainted elections. I have seen and photographed tampered voting materials. We need Jimmy Carter to help effect a change.

  • Mr. Giles should resign Saline County Commission
Mr. Giles used the terms like "niggerigging and "colored" folks to discuss Saline county business. He thinks it is appropriate to use these terms. He apologized for using the term niggerigging By saying he meant Afican Americanized. Some of his best friends are "colored" he said to show he is not prejudiced. He is living and thinking in another century. He is unfit to serve as a commissioner in Saline county Kansas today, where I pay taxes.

  • Stop the MERS Fraud and selling of consumers confidential information.
Mers holds and is selling confidential information dealing with millions of American consumers. MERS is an instrument used and helped cause the housing crisis. Millions of mortgages do not comply with state statues and documents may have never existed to be given when loans are paid in full. Not only has MERS not been stopped since the housing crisis but has expanded. Mers was created to deceive investors and avoid taxes with Banks not registering mortgages with local counties.

  • URBAN TREE INITIATIVE
Street trees around California are reaching their lifetime limit; they are falling over, buckling sidewalks and streets causing costly fixes for municipalities that don't have the funds to repave; most are not drought tolerant. Let's encourage local officials to plant trees that can provide useful lumber, beautiful hardwood, flooring and siding and bring all the profits back to the city. Just as owning your own chickens allows you access to fresh eggs, so can buying lumber from your city give you fully sustainable access to building material without buying from a clear cut PLUS supporting your city.

  • Safe assistant living facilities in Va. for low income seniors
In the Shanandoah and Rockingham County of Va. we have assistant living facilities that don't meet Va. building code and these private places have approx. 25 individuals living in sub-standard conditions that is barbaric, dangerous, and unhealthy for low income seniors that are receiving auxiliary grant from the state. I have petition Governor McDonnell, Senator Mark Warner, and numerous seniors agencies and getting no where with all of them. It seem they are more concern about ridiculous projects than taking care of the most vulnerable people of this country. I need help from lawyers, politicians who will give me some support in making sure these unfit facilities meet Va. building code standards or build new facilities for these people. The people of Va. should be ashamed to have such facilities operating in their state. I come from the poorest state in the US which is Maine and I wish some Virginians would visit the beautiful assistant living place the poor seniors of Maine live in. They are palaces as compare to what they have in Va. The places I visited in Va. you need to be a millionaire in order to live in them. They require a monthly income of $2500.00 per month and up. Who has this kind of income today unless you are wealthy? Also is your organization effective?

  • Congress: Save American Skydiving
President Obama's 2014 budget will charge a $100 user fee per flight for plane operators. Skydiving drop zones may fly 25 flights a day, or operate two planes, costing a possible $5000 a DAY. The US Parachute Association (USPA) has written to the President to change this proposed fee as well, but they need our support!
