President Obama has proposed cutting Social Security by lowering cost-of-living adjustments for current and future retirees. These cuts, sometimes called "chained CPI," will hurt seniors who have paid into the system for their whole lives and are already struggling with rising health care costs.

We need a Federal Law that creates harsh penalties for First Degree Child Abuse. So many children are being abused every day. Like Takota his life was taken to soon. (He was abused and literally tortured until he didn't make it while in his Mother and her Boyfriend's care) Children should never have to suffer or go through such torture. We are taking a stand, if a child is being abused it should automatically be a felony no less than ten years in prison, and if a child's life is taken it should be life in prison without parole. Wheelock School is the centerpiece and anchor of the southeast Keene neighborhood. The Keene School Board is considering plans which include closing Wheelock School. This would have a devastating affect on our neighborhood, and the families that live here. Tell the Keene School Board to keep Wheelock open!

Please Tammy, I collect Social Security disability. I receive $899.00 per month. By the end of the month I am always short. I have to decide where I can go based on how much gas I can afford for my car. My co-pays for my doctors deplete much of it, and my out of pocket deductable is $500.00 per year. It will take me 10 months just to pay off the deductable. Please help keep my current payment as it is, not less.

I am disabled and worked for about 30 years starting at the age of 16 and had to pay into Social Security from that time until I was no longer able to work. And with cuts to Social Security, I can't afford the common necessities. Because I have to pay higher prices for gasoline, food, and if my income decreases, it will be even harder to survive. I've already be affected by The Sequester and have to pay more for rent living in HUD Subsidized Housing for Seniors and Disabled Persons.

PEOPLE I KNOW ARE BARELY GETTING BY ON THE MONEY THEY GET, THEY CANNOT AFFORD BEEF OR CHICKEN OR FRESH VEGETABLES. EATING BREAD AND KOOLAID AND HOT DOGS ARE NOT HEALTHY

As higher education, a 4 year college or university diploma is now being required to get many jobs (including cashier at McDonalds apparently,) it is time that America step up to the competitive edge (like Denmark,) and institute Education Grants. Money for students higher education that does not have to be repaid. This must cover the entire cost of education and housing for the duration of study. Lets get Americans competitive and educated and taking the top jobs in our own country again with out the saddle and weight of repayment.

This is about President Obama's proposal to change the way cost of living increases are calculated for retirees on Social Security. As a person dependent on less than $900 Social Security, the proposed "chained CPI" would decrease cost of living increases for me and my fellow retirees and make those among the least able responsible for decreasing the deficit. This terrible idea should be rejected.

Many military dependents and spouses (both men and women) get shafted through military health insurance if they get divorced or seperate from their spouse. I've seen too many end up on their own not being able to keep up on their medical care because of lack of insurance. I've had enough patients (men & women) not wanting to leave an abusive relationship to their military spouse because of the insurance.
