Retain Our Best and BrightestThe Arkansas Governor’s Distinguished Scholars Program grants some of the top high school students in Arkansas awards that result in full scholarships to almost every college in the state. This makes it more appealing for our best and brightest students to stay in Arkansas. Due to cuts in program funding, the Arkansas Department of Higher Education may only be able to award around 100 scholarships for the upcoming year which is down from around 300 in previous years. The State Government should be retaining our state’s top high school students, rather than surprising them in the last quarter of their senior year with cuts in funding to crucial scholarships. Hard working high school students across Arkansas have relied on the availability of this scholarship. These proposed cuts in funding communicate that years of hard work may not pay-off. It should be our priority to show our top students, the next generation of leaders in this state, that Arkansas is still a land of opportunity.1,312 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Jackson Fitzgibbon

VOTE FOR Senate Joint Resolution SJR13-021 To Create An Interim Committee on Comprehensive Univer...It's time to cut to the chase!!! Colorado can save many more lives and billions of dollars in health costs* by taking a nonprofit cooperative path to financing universal health care! Let's do it! SCR13-021 will now go directly to the floor of the Senate for its 2nd reading (and likely a recorded vote) so there is no time to waste in signing this petition. Thank you! IF I could show you a way to provide all residents of Colorado with comprehensive quality health services while saving lives and BILLIONS of dollars (I always have to remind myself that it takes a 1,000 times a million dollars for each $1 Billion) in health costs, would you be even a little interested in learning more? Wouldn't you at least want EACH AND EVERY Colorado legislator to run the numbers, do the arithmetic, in order to save us Coloradans BILLIONS of dollars in health costs? no matter what the elected official's ideology and other biases that may currently favor a status quo that is eating us alive financially? Know anyone who has lost everything given health care costs as they seek to avoid the grim reaper? I certainly do! * Economist Gerald Friedman has prepared an insightful report for Colorado detailing how we can save MEGA-BUCKS in health costs by 2016 (over $4 Billion) and even more by 2024 (over $18 Billion) while still carrying out the Accountable Care Act (Obamacare), expanding Medicaid in Colorado, and while achieving universal health care for our residents with a nonprofit statewide cooperative!283 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Colorado Health Champions

Stop Income Tax FraudIn Tampa, Florida one can view the news weekly and people are being convicted for filling false tax returns all of the time. Why not put a square box on the tax form where one must put their thumb print to ensure the true identity of the tax payer?3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by David Burns

End Abuse by Pregnant Women to Their UnbornWe need a law that prevents pregnant women doing harm to their unborn children by their acts of smoking tobacco, smoking marijuana, drinking alcohol and conuming other types of drugs. I live in a small town in Illinois where I constantly see pregnant women smoking and drinking and I have tried to educate many of the harmful effects of the newborn but found that with any addiction, women find it difficult to quit. I would like to see women who use drugs while pregnant forced to become educated through rehab or jail if the pregnant women aren't willing to take the steps to stop. I would also like to see the child be removed at birth and brought to a safer environment. Not enough is being done to prevent this form of child abuse.9 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Randy Fabian
