Support a Moratorium on Shale Gas Drilling in PennsylvaniaPennsylvania is being wracked by fracking, but together we can stop it. Keystone Progress, along with some great partners, have gathered almost 100,000 signatures for a statewide moratorium on this dangerous and unnatural gas drilling. Help us stun the frackers and meet their goal by the April 30th deadline by signing below As fracking spills across Pennsylvania, things are only getting worse. We need to act now. From poisoned drinking water, to toxic air pollution and dead livestock, the list of people being harmed by fracking continues to grow. Gas drilling companies have committed more than 3,000 violations of environmental law, showing a continual disregard for Pennsylvanians' health and the health of our environment. And yet the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection continues to withhold the results of water tests that would tell us what chemicals the frackers are using and who is at risk. Despite all this damage, and more, last year our legislature went so far as to strip local communities of their right to take legal action to protect themselves from fracking. We can't wait for the politicians to act. We need a people-powered movement that's big enough to fight back and win. With your help, we can build that movement in Pennsylvania. Join 100,000 other Keystone state residents and call for a timeout on fracking right now.5,263 of 6,000 SignaturesCreated by Michael Morrill

Senator Reid: Please Protect Social SecuritySocial Security is not driving the deficit, therefore it should not be part of reforms aimed at cutting the deficit. U.S. debt comes from a decade of tax cuts for the wealthy, unlimited spending on foreign wars and a recession caused by unregulated Wall Street speculation. It is wrong to ask our seniors, veterans, and the disabled to pay for the greed of the top 1%. President Obama's proposed "Chained CPI," deceptively portrayed as a reasonable cost of living adjustment, is a cut to Social Security benefits that would hurt seniors. Social Security is too important for Americans to be used as a bargaining chip in debt negotiations. Today, most seniors rely on Social Security for 2/3rds of their income or more. Cutting Social Security will keep many of us from paying for necessities as we age. These cuts are an even bigger threat to the disabled and veterans, who would face the COLA cut for 30, 40 years or more. Gutting Social Security is going in the wrong direction. A better Social Security reform would insure the wealthy pay their fair share by lifting the cap on income subject to Social Security taxes. We need retirement security, not less. Let us stand together and speak out against corporate greed performed at the expense of the public.18 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Shannon Gould

Jobs for Youth and Jobs for All, NOW!The youth of our nation need economic stability. They are the future leaders, parents, workers, and thinkers of our country. They need good jobs to be able to contribute to society. Skyrocketing student debt, restrictive immigration policy, and the rising attacks on the labor movement have all limited young peoples' ability to find employment that will allow them to live in dignity. Latino and African American youth still face employment discrimination, causing genocidal levels of poverty in these communities that fuel the vicious cycles of gun violence and incarceration. Instead, youth could be part of rebuilding our nation's infrastructure, training to teach in our public schools, building community centers , and so much more. We say NO to the Sequester and endless other cutbacks that are being proposed under pressure from the 1%. We say YES to jobs legislation. We say YES to investment in our infrastructure, student support system, and immigration reform. Sign the petition to tell Congress and President Barack Obama we support jobs for youth and jobs for all, NOW!13 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Lisa Bergmann

Tell the FCC to keep prime time free of nudityThe FCC is planning to remove it's ban on the f word and partial nudity on regular day time television. They are only taking input on this topic this month. Please contact them. As a mother I already have a hard time maintaining the innocents of my three children. I think it's inappropriate and wrong to remove this ban and allow frontal nudity and the f word being broadcast on daytime television. Please stand up against this.31 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Melissa Kelley

Voter approval for tax increase to support wartime activitiesI, like many Americans have been frustrated by the many Americans who are proudly "pro-war" but don't want to increase taxes for any reason, ever. How else do we pay for war? By cutting programs at home? I for one, supported by many, do not believe it is fair for politicians to decide to go to war and then please their constituents by not raising the necessary revenue to pay for it. We are in large part in the economic mess we are in now because of a decade-plus-long-war which was all paid for from borrowed money and contributed greatly to the current fiscal defecit. I believe if the "pro-war" Americans were responsible for actually paying for war by their own decision to support it, we would have a whole lot less of it. This helps strengthen our economy, gives us ownership of our decisions as a nation, and not to mention brings more peace and prosperity to America.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Katy Moon

Social Security Disability payments are stealing from my retirement!Going forward, a retiree living an average lifespan will collect only 60% of the money that they have paid into Social Security. How can SS not remain solvent? Answer: Social Security Disability is increasingly being used as an off the books welfare program. People who were once helped by programs funded through the budget are now being put on SS disability. The definition of disability has been stretched to allow many more people to claim benefits. In the last 5 years the solvency date has decreased from 2043 to 2033. It is obvious that it is the over use of the disability portion that is bleeding the trust fund dry, and not the retirement of Baby Boomers.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Barb Tessin
