Indiana State Legislature, Reject HB1311People in the Indiana State Legislature want to ban students from out of state who attend college here and live here from voting in Indiana elections. Students have every right to vote in the districts they live in, and if some student is living in the ISU Dorms, and attending college, they legally live here, and have the right to vote in Indiana elections by law. Don't allow these students to be disenfranchised simply because they are attending college, and trying to better their lives. Call on the Indiana State Legislature to reject House Bill HB1311, and protect the rights of students to vote. Thank You!2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by clifton cummings

Governor Nixon: Save the Family Support DivisionThe Missouri Department of Social Services has begun to reduce and consolidate field offices of the Family Support Division (FSD) with a reduction of over 700 employees. As a result, many counties will have no offices to which people can go to access case workers and on-site assistance. It appears that the largest population centers in the state (St. Louis City and County, St. Charles County and Jackson County) will be without any FSD offices. This is difficult to understand.256 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Louise T. Wilkerson

Trains through TexasOur economy in Texas is dependent on a solid transportation system. Allowing trains to travel through Texas uninhibited will lessen traffic on our overcrowded highways. Currently, several states are considering rail programs to reduce vehicular traffic. Texas should consider this too.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Andrew Karaffa

Marco Rubio: Please support a pathway to citizenship so immigrant families will not be torn apart! We need a pathway to citizenship for the 11 million immigrants already living in the United States. Senator Rubio is playing a key leadership role in drafting the bill for immigration reform, so we are asking him to commit to keeping families together and put aspiring Americans on the road to citizenship. The petition creator, Lizbeth Cosme, said, "I was brought to this country at the age of 8. I am 33 years old and a mother of three, and it is frustrating not being able to go with my children on field trips and participate in school activities due to the lack of a Social Security number. My children and their education are my top priorities. Immigration reform is needed so I can help my kids achieve their goals. They are DREAMers; I myself am a DREAMer!"142 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Lizbeth Cosme

Fund 4 major social programs through raised taxesIt is clear that lower and middle class workers are working harder than ever to make less than ever. Meanwhile, those at the top earn far greater profits than their average workers than ever before because of their financial bargaining power. Therefore, impose necessary taxes on the needed top wealthy to see that the four social programs--social security, Medicare, Medicaid, and Obamacare--stay solvent, even cutting defense unless taxes are sustained high enough to make all programs continue as they are now. Time to go on the attack and not allow any notion that the social programs are the unnecessary expense that took many on the right feel should be cut. To take from Paul to pay Peter is not robbery when Paul has already taken from Paul due to the power of the purse in bargaining power and the abilty of he wealthy to make government serve their interests better than those of the people. They now take more than they make.. .13 of 100 SignaturesCreated by John Daniel Duke

We are all immigrants.11 of us met in Delray Beach FL recently to discuss our support for immigration reform and how it should look. This is what we came up with and decided to create a petition for others to be able to join us with our directives to our elected officials in DC. We all shared our immigrant histories from recent immigrants to many generations and all agreed that current immigrants deserved respect for their contributions to our country and a pathway to citizenship.328 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Joni Albrecht

Fluoride Free St Croix Falls(please sign if you are 18 yrs or older and a St Croix Falls resident) Water fluoridation is the practice of adding industrial-grade fluoride chemicals to water for the purpose of preventing tooth decay. As is becoming increasingly clear, fluoridating water supplies is an outdated, unnecessary, and dangerous relic from a 1950s public health culture that viewed mass distribution of chemicals much differently than scientists do today. Fluoride is a drug. By fluoridating our water, our city government is not allowing the citizens of St Croix Falls to have a choice in their own health decisions. Research has shown that fluoride is inconsequential in preventing tooth decay. Fluoride is a highly toxic substance that can cause a range of adverse health effects. Certain members of the public are at particularly high risk of harm. A growing body of evidence reasonably indicates that fluoridated water, in addition to other sources of daily fluoride exposure, can cause or contribute to a range of serious effects, including dental fluorosis, arthritis, damage to the brain, reduced thyroid function, severe bone disease and possibly osteosarcoma (bone cancer) in adolescent males. Fluoridation is UNETHICAL because: 1) It violates the individual’s right to informed consent to medication. 2) The municipality cannot control the dose of the patient. 3) The municipality cannot track each individual’s response. 4) It ignores the fact that some people are more vulnerable to fluoride’s toxic effects than others. Some people will suffer while others may benefit. 5) It violates the Nuremberg code for human experimentation. Please join our efforts in keeping St Croix Falls healthy and fluoride free!18 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Casey Borchert

More local foods now!Even though Maine is a rural state with a rich agricultural tradition, we actually import more of our food than any other state in the continental United States. Not only is food from local, sustainable farms better tasting and healthier for us, it protects our environment while supporting Maine's local farmers.190 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Emily Figdor

Representative Meeks, No Benefit Cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security!Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security are extremely vital parts of our social safety net. The majority of Americans are NOT willing to cut benefits to these very popular programs in order to deal with the deficit. In fact, Social Security should not even be part of this equation. We oppose any and every cut to Medicare, Medicaid, or Social Security benefits -- including raising the retirement age or cutting the cost of living adjustments that we earned and need. There are other ways to solve our nation's fiscal problems. Our Washington representatives should NOT dismantle the safety net which our country's seniors, poor, orphans, and disabled rely upon for their very survival.49 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Helene Zemel
