Pass the Health Care for All Oregon Plan Act - HB2922We are all constantly effected by lack of access to basic health care due to costs imposed by the current insurance based financing method. Preventable deaths, preventable hospitalizations and complications, preventable medical incident related bankruptcies and living in fear are the price we pay for a lack of universal coverage, publicly financed, privately delivered health care system. HB 2922 is the Health Care for All Oregon Plan Act with at least 21 co-sponsors, similar to the HB3510 that stayed in committee in 2011. This time there is much more public support for this monumental and necessary change in how health care is financed, with similar systems proven to have better outcomes than ours in many of the other developed countries in the world. This problem will persist as long as for-profit insurance companies control the prices and payments. HB2922 puts an end to that. Public hearings scheduled for May 13th in Salem. Outlaw No-Bid ContactsGovernment contracts are quite often given to friends, relatives or supporters of government officials without the process of finding the best price or product. I believe there is over $450 billion in federal contracts that were never up for bid.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Wayne Kelley

Assistance for the NeedyMany unfortunate citizen with an arrest history in MS and other southern states are in need of basic assistance but, denied assistance because of their prior criminal history. In an effort to follow federal agencies and others, we can assist those returning from prison and jail in becoming productive citizens, and save taxpayer dollars by lowering the direct and collateral costs of incarceration to enhance community safety and wellbeing.57 of 100 SignaturesCreated by LCNWCW1

Pay cuts for Border patrol agentsOur agency is currently going be cutting Border Patrol salary by about 40% if the budget does not go through. I believe this is going to be devastating for the majority of agents, who spent on average 10 hrs a day on the front-lines keeping the drugs and illegal aliens from entering the US. The cuts are going to be 10% furlough, 8-10 % falsa and 25% AUO (uncontrollable overtime pay or pretty much the same amount we get on a hly wage). I believe the morale is already at its lowest levels and with these cuts next month i think it will be at 0%; Causing a major influx of drugs and illegal entries. This will be felt by the surrounding states and eventually the entire US. It doesn’t really make the general news but we are capturing tons of illegal drugs and in the thousands of illegal aliens to the point where some of our station are unable to house them; Hence the reason why recent events led ICE detention center to release thousands of aliens. They are simple overwhelmed with what we are giving them on a daily basis. They have no beds and that’s the only reason for release nothing more. Someone needs to review our depart policy and stand behind us instead of against us guys in green. thanks5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by d

Stop US Drone AssassinationsOf the 4700 killed in US drone strikes over the last ten years, we knew the names of only 160, ten of whom were wanted leaders. That leaves us with 4540 men, women and children killed with remotely-fired missiles (costing $68,000 each) on the basis of their patterns of movement--often in countries like Somalia and Yemen, where we are not officially at war. Drone pilots like Brandon Bryant can attest we often hit innocents, like the child he killed on his first strike. This practice is so extra-legal (not to say illegal) that President Obama has to personally sign off on each strike. Would we ever let another country do this on our soil? If we stand for the rule of law and fair trial, if we are trying to create a safer world, if we want to end rather than aid the radicalization of people in other countries, we have to lead by example--and that means saying 4540 is enough. End Colorado congressional and executive support for extra-legal drone assassinations.8 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Levi Jacobs

Governor Haley: Expand Medicaid to needy citizensThrough the Affordable Care Act, federal dollars have been set aside to expand healthcare for South Carolinians. Accepting these funds would improve the lives of many South Carolinians. In 2012 South Carolina ranked 46th in overall health. As a teacher, I have seen students devastated by lack of access to healthcare. By accepting federal healthcare dollars we can make a significant impact on the health of the citizens of our state.2,495 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Jean Grosser

Stop Delaware City Oil Refinery from Damaging Aquatic ResourcesThe Delaware City Oil Refinery water intake system, built in the 1950s, kills millions of fish a year with its antiquated screening system. The refinery must use its vast state financial aid to improve this system, since it is not only particularly harmful, but inexpensive to fix.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Stacey Pounsberry

limit imports of manufactured good from ChinaOur short-sighted focus on profit has compromised the quality of life here in California and elsewhere. As long as we have job-less and home-less people, we should be spending our manufacturing dollars here.10 of 100 SignaturesCreated by james terry
