Restore Central Time To All Of Indiana20,000 Hoosiers have signed petitions and 41 school boards have signed resolutions in support of Central Time for Indiana. On their behalf and that of the 1.35 million students whose safety and educational well-being are being compromised, and on behalf of the Indiana businesses that are being inconvenienced by Eastern Time, I request that a legislative study committee be established to evaluate Indiana’s time designations. That way an educated decision can be made to either keep it as it is or take the steps to return Indiana to its original Central Time Zone. You are the state’s leaders and you have the power to get this done. Please, do it!227 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Andy Ray

Don't rig presidential elections by changing the Electoral CollegeYou know you’re out there when Paul Ryan thinks your idea is wrong. But Tom Corbett and his Republican allies in the PA legislature appear to be moving ahead with their idea to change the way we hold presidential elections. Corbett’s idea is to allocate PA’s Electoral College votes by percentage instead of winner-take-all. Using this formula, the 2012 results would have given the GOP (Romney/Ryan) 8 votes to 12 from PA for the Democrat (Obama/Biden). At first glance this might sound like a more fair system, but it would only work if all states had the same system. But the only states considering the Corbett Scheme are states where President Obama won, and where Republicans control the state government--Virginia, Florida, Ohio, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. If the Corbett’s Scheme had been in place last year in these states, we would have a President Romney who won only 47% of the vote. How unfair is this plan? Even Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) opposes it, even though he would be Vice President today if it had passed last year.13,554 of 15,000 SignaturesCreated by Michael Morrill

Idaho Transportation Department: Do Not select the E-2 Alternative Realignment of Highway 95 betw...ITD plans to re-locate a major highway over a local landmark, Paradise Ridge. This route (E-2) will be more subject to dangerous winter weather, and will put at risk critical patches of the native Palouse Prairie Ecosystem of which there is only 0.1% remaining. Other alternatives will stay off the ridge and do much less environmental damage.557 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Al Poplawsky

funding educationIt is unbelievable that some states and specially Texas cannot fund its schools when the money is available. The workforce of the future needs well educated and prepared personnel who can contribute to the nation, specially in the field of research and technology. The United staes must compete with toher nations and keep high standards in order to do it through a strong educational system. I expect all legislators to encourage better training and support so the United States creates mathematicians, scientists and technology that will move us forward.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by silvia manzano

Maintain strong Wisconsin environmental protectionsRe-writing Wisconsin's state mining regulations threatens the environment of Northern Wisconsin. Changes to state regulations may pave the way for the assault on the delicate ecological balance of the Lake Superior region. Economic development should proceed in favor of and not against the environment that sustains it!1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Halvard Midelfort

We can not pay for services for all, by robbing the PERs Retirement system.Paying for our childrens education is the responsibility of ALL taxpayers. Robbing the teachers retirement fund, like was done in 2003, is not a "constitutional funding mechanism for Oregon's future" as was stated by the Speaker of the House, Tina Kotek. For the first 25 years of teaching, my wife and I planned our retirement, which was reflected to us by the State of Oregon's annual PERS statments. As stated in the "Contract Clause" and the 2005 Oregon Supreme Court decision stating that "decades long pension contributions are considered a labor contract." Therfore all economic working conditions MUST BE BARGAINED. They can not be unilaterally changed, and then be construed to be Constitutional.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Douglas and Diane Ainge
