Immigrant youth should not be hindered from working towards a more promising future solely because they were brought to the United States by their parents at a young age without legal status. We believe the Iowa DREAM Act (SF80) would be a good building block for needed immigration reform and help add talented, motivated, and multi-lingual people to our workforce. This year, we have the best chance we've had in a long time to create change in an immigration system that has left 11 million people living in the shadow of deportation. But in past years, previous Comprehensive Immigration Reform (CIR) bills introduced in Congress haven't come close to giving all undocumented people a chance at citizenship. For example, a 2006 CIR bill that failed would have given only 7 million the opportunity to "fix" their status if it had passed. The Visa Company is trying to find loop holes in yet again trying to make an extra buck. 10 states said no, and who want to cross or wait to shop until we visit one of these states? I know for a fact that each store who does this will lose my business all around. This is just another way to make a buck, the Visa was protected by bank once and they were losing a lot of money I guess from not allowing money to be spent when folks didn't have any money. Charging all the over draft fees, when the banks knew they consumer didn't have the funds. Since check books are not used much anymore, folks just guess sometimes about their balance.

Our school doesn't have a track team, so with this Petition maybe we can get our Junior High/High School students to be more active. Some students are not eligable to play sports such as Basketball, Volleyball, or Football. With having a track team some students might actually be excited to be in a sport! Boys and Girls from 7th to 8th and 9th to 12th grade could join. The signatures you see are the students and some teachers that would be proud to have a track team!

Governor O'Malley and the Maryland legislature are proposing new laws which will do NOTHING to effectively reduce violent crime, protect our schools, or penalize the real criminals. We need to do a better job of enforcing the CURRENT gun laws and implement measures that are shown to actually reduce violence, not "feel-good" gun bans that only punish law abiding citizens.

Mayor Bob Foster has gone through extreme lengths to guarantee that California medical marijuana patients in Long Beach can not access their medicine safely. He has acted against the interest of the people who have elected him by forcing long beach patients, many of them cancer patients, to get their medicine through unsafe means. Not only should Long Beach tax payers be upset, but also the community as a whole because local governments should be respecting state laws, not trumping them.

I have LOST one home already to school taxes being raised by SEVENTY FIVE PERCENT IN ONE YEAR. Now it may happen again. I don't have a pension plan like a state retiree --- why shout I pay state tax on my pension plan. You want more money pull back some of your state benefits.

Our goal is to save the U.S. Postal Service from drastic cuts in service. We want the postal service to cease closing mail processing plants. We want the postal service to continue 6 day delivery and we want the postal service to stop closing post offices and cutting retail operating hours. Our goal is to see the dramatic pre payments into retirement accounts to stop and be returned to the postal service. We are proud of our postal network in New York and want to keep it the way it is.

I dont wish to be poisoned by a practice that everyone knows is unsafe. Hydrofracking will destroy our enviroment, ruin our rural infrastructure and lay waste on the poorest of people all of who will b affected. Furthermore, it will not create the jobs promised like the big fatcat gasbags talk about. A few diners and flophouses may benefit, but thats all. This person, Animal Control Officer, Torsten Werner Took the National Reptile Foundations Tortoises, 3 large all male Sulcata tortoises to the animal care part of AC & C. They were not properly fed, or taken care of and were left in a pen outside that was contaminated with goat poo. fed broccoli ! ( that is toxic to tortoises!) and other veggies that are not on their diet. They only needed orchard hey. So all of them developed the runns. We got our tortoises back, however They closed down the National Reptile Foundation in conjunction with building and planning, BECAUSE i had a 501c3 non profit org..... I was required to have a commercial kennel license, AND they could not give me a commercial kennel license BECAUSE I live in the COASTAL ZONE. Other targets and other people have complained about him taking pit bulls, and having them euthanized, and terrorizing little children with a poor choice of words, and more recently the confiscation of a herd of piggs. taken for no reason, but Animal care wants $1,000.00 from the owner before returning them, or they will be destroyed. After an encounter with this Mendocino County Animal Control Officer, you're left shaking, scared, angry, and abused. He is known for jumping to conclusions, and presents him self as an expert in handling animals, while making you feel like a prisioner who knows nothing, or worse; the scum of the earth. An encounter with this Mendocino County Animal control Officer will undoubtedly change your life forever. You will never see Animal Control the same way ever again. Please sign this petition to have Torsten Werner fired from the position of Animal Control Officer, with the Mendocino County Department of Animal Control. There seems to be a trend of officer Werner to confiscate animals, for no reason. Then when the animals are vet checked, there is nothing wrong with them, but cost the owner several hundreds or thousands to get out of the "Animal care part of Animal care & control" Torsten Werner needs to be fired, He is creating hate and discontent, to the animal owning residents of Mendocino county. He uses a bad chioce of words in delicate situations,..... taking animals with out merrit, and complicating the lives of the animals, and their owners. the funny thing is when officer Torsten Werner is WITH another officer, he has better manners, and doesn't take as many animals in. When Torsten Werner is alone, he has a different attitude towards the people and their animals. Just so you know...... IF any officer is addressing you alone, YOU CAN request for another officer to be present. It is the LAW. Thank you.

The Florida Legislature is at it again, thanks to the concerted efforts of Representatives Kathleen Passidomo (District 106, Collier County) and George Moraitis, Jr. (District 93, Broward County). Proposed House Bill 87 must not be allowed to pass into law in any form. The Bill is unconstitutional because it takes away from constituents and citizens of this state, and anyone who owns real property in Florida, their individual property and due process rights, is retroactive and violates Article 1, Sections 9 and 10 of Florida’s Constitution, which do not permit the passage of any law or any Judicial and/or Executive Branch process which deprives any person of life, liberty or property without due process of law and prohibits the passing of any law that impairs the obligations of contracts.

Voting is a right not a priviledge. To make a citizsen produce an ID is parralled to the "Old Jim Crow Laws: literacy tests, and/or poll taxes".
