• Aggregious Hidden Congressional Benefits
    Congress has set itself above many laws that apply to all of us in order to provide the members with undtold benefits re. health insurance, salaries, pensions, insider trading rights and many other benefits without regard to length of service, accomplishments and work ethics. An independent commission needs to investigate and report on these to a largely unknowing public. The resulting outcry should bring reform.

  • Reduce government spending; stop all corporate subsidies.
    Reducing or preferably eliminating all corporate subsidies, beginning with the oil companies, is a better alternative to reduce the US Government spending deficit than reducing or eliminating benefits for Social Security , Medicare, Medicaid and other safety met than benefits the poor and middle class.

    Closed down these Private Federal Prisons, that get over $25,000 for each inmate and are starving the inmates and mistreating them. Federal prisons are LEGALIZED SLAVERY for the black and Hispanic population.The uneducated workers makes their own laws to oppress the inmates and this keep the inmates in trouble.   • Congress, vote yourself a pay cut!
    The current salary (2013) for rank-and-file members of the House and Senate is $174,000 per year. For all its rhetoric, the US congress has done an exceedingly poor job dealing with the federal defecit and mounting national debt. As a symbol of its commitment to solve these problems, congress should give itself a 75 percent pay cut, to $43,500 per year. When the federal budget becomes balanced and the defecit is near zero, it can restore its pay.

  • Retirement benefits for elected officials
    As we talk about the national budget and cutting spending, I believe that the taxpayer is forgetting about the bill we are paying for officials who have either lost an election or simply just retire. I believe they should be responsible for some of thier own costs after leaving office.
