• Congress to play by the same Rules
    Congress wants to balance the budget and in part seems to blame Social Security. Therefore, they should be bound by the same rules of qualification. If deeper cuts are thought to be needed to Social Security, then perhaps Social Security as well as any other public/government retirement benefits should not be afforded to Congress. They need to be part of the sufferage of the mess they put us into.

    I tried to listen to my favorite Progressive radio station, AM 1090 KPTK Seattle today and found that corrupt right wingers have replaced Washington State's only Progressive radio station with mindless sports broadcasting. However, right wing stations spewing right wing propaganda are all over the dial and hard to avoid.

    Presently credit card issuers have free reign for fees and policies often changing their rules (interest rates, late fees, due dates, and junk fees) at the drop of a hat. The credit card agreement should be a one year agreement with 60days notice of changes for the next contract.

  • Declare Election Day a National Holiday...finally!
    Our national voter turnout is rather dismal compared to many other western industrialized countries. In part this can be traced to our Election Day being a regular, midweek, work day, and NOT a holiday. In recent years we have seen increasing efforts to suppress voter turnout. Many state legislatures have placed an increasing number of obstacles, in time and procedure, in the path of the voter. If we can create national holidays in memory of great American citizens, why can we not agree on a national holiday honoring the greatest American of all, The Voter?

  • Stop Delta's mistreatment of its gay employees
    My son, Brian, lost his job because he was ill. Delta fired him while he was on FLMA stating that he didn't have the time available. The way Delta works their FLMA is misapplied. They use a running 12 month period of time and if an employee becomes ill at the beginning of the year, there is no FLMA time built up to cover the time needed.

  • Homeowner Bailout
    The federal gov't to lend money to homeowners who are upside down because of the action of wall street and the bankersters, because they cannot get a new loan and refi, or modify their loan because it is not a fannie or sallie mae loan. I've been affected, my loan is for 7.5%, because of this I am under water every month. My retirement savings has dwindled next to nothing. My wife an I have excellent credit ratings, never missed a payment on any loan and yet we keep getting turned down. The feds bailed out afore mentioned villians, yet can't or won't develop a program for the people.
