• Don't cut my Social Security
The future of the majority of Americans who have paid into and expected to receive back Social Security in the time of their life when they need it the most should not be compromised in order to give a tax break to the wealthiest Americans among us.

  • Government Employees Invest In Big Oil Through Their Retirement Savings Plans! Please ask C Fund ...
I'm a government employee, and I'm angry because my Thrift Savings Plan retirement fund portfolio includes ExxonMobil and Chevron Corporation. I think it has become a moral imperative that we move away from fossil fuels and into green technologies. We can't seem to stop the flow of billions of dollars in tax subsidies to Big Oil, but as government employees, we can exercise our rights to ask our fund managers to divest from ExxonMobil and Chevron, or at least give us a green fund alternative. With fossil fuel corporations banking on exploiting 5 times the amount of carbon considered safe to burn without exceeding a 2-degree C global temperature increase (see http://math.350.org ), government employees should be concerned about the fact that they're investing in Big Oil's business plan for wrecking the planet! There are better investment alternatives with better long-term growth potential (e.g., solar).

  • CA court ruling: "If you aren't married, it's not rape."
A Los Angeles-based state appeals court just overturned a rape conviction because a woman who was raped in her sleep by a man impersonating her boyfriend is unmarried. The victim, who at first thought the man was her boyfriend, tried to stop him once she regained consciousness enough to realize he was an imposter. However, because the woman and her boyfriend are not a married couple, her rapist will walk away without penalty: The court said that its decision is based on a California law stating that tricking a victim into sex by impersonation only counts as rape if the victim is married. • GUN DEATH DATABASE
There is not and there should be a national database tracking system on the numbers of violent gun deaths and suicides in this country. Without knowing the actual numbers of gun deaths how can we assess the real situation? We need a permanent agency providing national totals for every previous day.

  • March to Restore Balance in Congress
Congressional members are beholden to special interests that finance their campaigns. As a result, America has been held hostage twice in recent months. Both had to do with fiscal responsibility. First,we suffered through their deadlock on raising the debt ceiling. And now, we are stuck with their "kick the can approach" once again regarding the "fiscal cliff." All this means is no one is willing to work together in a nonpartisan way to hash out a balanced budget. We all suffer as a result of their inability to work together. The upper 2% who hold their purse strings are in charge of the remaining 98%. Let's march together, as one voice of America and demand that Congress stop doing business as usual and get down to work and do what they were elected to do. To serve the people, by the people of this great Nation. Taking holiday time off at a time when such a serious deadline was due is totally inexcusable. Now, because they again waited til the last minute to resolve issues between parties, we are once again held hostage. Tell them they can't kick the can (US) around anymore. Tell them they will be removed, voted out, impeached, and black-balled come next election if they can't restore balance in Congress! March with One Voice! It works.

  • Take Congress back.
This is a concern for all of America. The people that get voted into office are doing it for the money and benefits, not for the American people. We need to get Congress and the Senate to act for the people and this is the way to do it.

  • Have FOX News Removed from Cable TV
FOX news has been spewing hatred, lies and deceit for many years. Recently, an Indiana man was convicted of arson for setting fire to a mosque in Ohio. The man specifically stated that he was motivated by media accounts, mostly from FOX news, and that he felt no remorse in setting the fire. If I am not mistaken, this is a hate crime, a hate crime driven by the poisonous and contagious lies and conventional "wisdom" supplied by this media outlet.
