Tell Texas Lawmakers: "Buy American"Texas State Rep. Yvonne Davis has filed HB 535, the "Buy American" bill. This bill would require state agencies to give preference to purchasing goods made in Texas or the U.S. when the option is available. If products are not made in Texas at a comparable cost to other goods, the next preference would be to goods made anywhere in the United States. Millions will benefit by the Texas government investing in American jobs and America workers. Disabled veterans and farmers will be some of the first to benefit from such a law.117 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Amanda Guynes

Tell the Senate to Fix the FilibusterOver the next few days, the fate of filibuster reform hangs in the balance. Let’s tell the leaders of the U.S. Senate that real reform includes a full talking filibuster. Other proposals out there don’t go far enough, and won’t change the culture of obstruction that paralyzes the Senate. Your grassroots support today is critical. Sign the petition: Tell the Senate to fix the filibuster. ~ Senator Jeff Merkley25,807 of 30,000 SignaturesCreated by Jeff Merkley

Abolish Selective ServiceI got annoyed by the hypocrisy and outrage of registering guns compared to registering men 18-25 for Selective Service. The law is antiquated and needs to be abolished or suspended.195 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Todd Bronson

28th AmmendmentLet's put an end to Congress making laws to suit their own agenda instead of what is for the best and highest good for all concerned. I am a widow raising a child. My survivor benefits ended when she turned 16 instead of 18 (what is used to be a few years ago). Her survivor benefits will end when she is 18 instead of through college (also what it used to be a few years ago). My situation is minor compared to what others have lost due to the benefits Congress has seen fit to unduly grant themselves.10 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Carrie Provencher

Keep Guns Out of the Wrong Hands & Preventing Illegal Gun TraffickingThe recent gun violence that killed six year old Aliyah Shell in Little Village and 7 year old Heaven Sutton on the Westside as well as the massacres in the Aurora, Colorado movie theater and against the Sikh Community in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, and the tragedy at Sandy Hook elementary demonstrates that we must stop the senseless killings by fire arms, and have better control over the firearms that enter our communities.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Marcenia J. Make DC a State: Pass the New Columbia Admission ActI recently moved to New York City after living in Washington, DC for the better part of two decades. I have never thought it was fair that DC residents are denied the right of full voting representation in Congress. Now that I live in New York City and have the privilege of voting representation in Congress, I consider it my duty to lobby my elected representatives to extend my rights to my brothers and sisters in DC.94 of 100 SignaturesCreated by David Shuster

Tell North Carolina Republican Walter Jones, Jr. NO ON H.R.6706 — the Fair Debt Collection Practi...Walter Jones wants to amend the Fair Debt Collections Practices act to favor the Banks, the bill sought to change the definition of Lawyers and their firms so that lawyers not called debt collectors. This proposed change does not help homeowners because in addition debt collectors as it is are lawyers who sometimes buy debt and then turn to collect it. This bill is a sham and the Representative may be working for the Banks on this one. see link for details http://mariokenny.me/2013/01/17/bill-to-amend-fdcpa-for-attorneys-introduced-in-u-s-house/1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by mario kenny
