CA court ruling: "If you aren't married, it's not rape."A Los Angeles-based state appeals court just overturned a rape conviction because a woman who was raped in her sleep by a man impersonating her boyfriend is unmarried. The victim, who at first thought the man was her boyfriend, tried to stop him once she regained consciousness enough to realize he was an imposter. However, because the woman and her boyfriend are not a married couple, her rapist will walk away without penalty: The court said that its decision is based on a California law stating that tricking a victim into sex by impersonation only counts as rape if the victim is married. GUN DEATH DATABASEThere is not and there should be a national database tracking system on the numbers of violent gun deaths and suicides in this country. Without knowing the actual numbers of gun deaths how can we assess the real situation? We need a permanent agency providing national totals for every previous day.7 of 100 SignaturesCreated by GERALD W. LANDRUM

March to Restore Balance in CongressCongressional members are beholden to special interests that finance their campaigns. As a result, America has been held hostage twice in recent months. Both had to do with fiscal responsibility. First,we suffered through their deadlock on raising the debt ceiling. And now, we are stuck with their "kick the can approach" once again regarding the "fiscal cliff." All this means is no one is willing to work together in a nonpartisan way to hash out a balanced budget. We all suffer as a result of their inability to work together. The upper 2% who hold their purse strings are in charge of the remaining 98%. Let's march together, as one voice of America and demand that Congress stop doing business as usual and get down to work and do what they were elected to do. To serve the people, by the people of this great Nation. Taking holiday time off at a time when such a serious deadline was due is totally inexcusable. Now, because they again waited til the last minute to resolve issues between parties, we are once again held hostage. Tell them they can't kick the can (US) around anymore. Tell them they will be removed, voted out, impeached, and black-balled come next election if they can't restore balance in Congress! March with One Voice! It works.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Deborah Phoenix

Communities Against "Neighborhood Napalm"Proposition: Assault rifles in civilian hands are "Neighborhood Napalm." If you believe the intentional marketing of such conflagration makers is an inherently bad idea please sign this petition calling for a stop to manufacture of such "Neighborhood Napalm." Recognition Criteria: For purposes of this petition, any long gun capable of firing seven rounds - without reloading, and without requirement of manual projectile advance into firing position, is deemed a "Neighborhood Napalm" device.10 of 100 SignaturesCreated by William P Mullins

Take Congress back. This is a concern for all of America. The people that get voted into office are doing it for the money and benefits, not for the American people. We need to get Congress and the Senate to act for the people and this is the way to do it.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Wallace Coffman

Have FOX News Removed from Cable TVFOX news has been spewing hatred, lies and deceit for many years. Recently, an Indiana man was convicted of arson for setting fire to a mosque in Ohio. The man specifically stated that he was motivated by media accounts, mostly from FOX news, and that he felt no remorse in setting the fire. If I am not mistaken, this is a hate crime, a hate crime driven by the poisonous and contagious lies and conventional "wisdom" supplied by this media outlet.5,185 of 6,000 SignaturesCreated by Daniel Ippolito

Repeal the 16th amendment, replace with National Sales TaxIncome taxes are a deterrent to economic prosperity and the 16th admendment that allows income taxes needs to be repealed. Without income taxes everyonoe would have more money to spend and large companies would flock to the USA to build factories and improve our economy. A national sales tax would generate enough money for the government as it now gets from income taxes and the price of retail goods would remain about the same since from manufactures, to wholesalers to retail stores could make the same net profit since they would not have to account for income taxes in their calculations. This would be fair since those that spend the most would pay the most in taxes, there would be no loopholes, US companies could better compete with foreign companies and people that visit the USA would support our economy when they purchase things in the states. .83 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Dave Burton

Republicans have wrong ideasI am tired of republicans insisting that the way out of this recession is to further concentrate wealth in the hands of the wealthy. They won't spend it and haven't so far. Why do they insist on pushing these policies? Because of political contributions, obviously.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kevin
