Open Primary: Democrats Support Moderates Against Tea Party ChallengersThe Republican party has collapsed under pressure from far right fanatics. The point is raised that for many republicans it is the fear of a primary challenge by the Tea Party that prevents them from taking moderate positions. In areas with dominant republican voter registration, democratic voters should vote for the moderate republican instead of a sure fire democratic loser. In my district, the republican incumbent won by 80,000 votes.
