• President Obama: please, remember the promises you made to the American People.
We voted in 2008 and in 2012 under the light of a HOPE. Social Security recipients and Medicare beneficiaries paid for them through a life time of work. We are also part of the middle class that you are advocating for. The effects of measures that decrease our incomes would be devastating for many.

  • Tax Guns, Fund School Security
I want my kids to come home safe at the end of each school day. With education budgets squeezed everywhere, schools don't have the resources to adequately protect our children from tragic events like the mass killing in Newtown, Connecticut. We need a revenue stream to secure our children's safety.

  • Repeal the Second Amendment
Whereas the Second Amendment was crafted at a time when the U.S. had neither national standing army nor the States a national guard; whereas the frontier and wilderness conditions of 18th- and 19th-century America no longer apply; whereas the authors of the Bill of Rights and the Constitution had no concept of the types of 21st-century weaponry that is readily available to private citizens: it is long past time to repeal the Second Amendment.

  • help for people in their 50's looking for work!
i am a 54 year old man,who lost my job by no fault of my own.i am a steelworker who's company filed bankruptcy and liquidated its assets.i have worked for this company for 34+ yearsi have worked as a (millwright) now called (mtm) maintenance tech mechanical.and i have also worked on the production end as an operator.(coil operator) at the hot strip rolling mill.i have been out of work for 7 months,i have applied for over 150 jobs.if i get a reply its a thank you for your interest.i only have a high school diploma,i started in the mill at 19 years old.i believe that my age is a factor in why i am not being hired.i cant prove that, but i get that feeling the more jobs i apply to.i have applied for jobs and in 15 minutes get a thank you for your interest, the jobs i apply for only require a high school diploma too!i really think its because of my age, companies are looking for younger employees.to the people in washington d.c. making our laws, and setting the guidelines for our country, most dont have any compassion for people like me or my fellow workers,i am not alone by any means.it seems to me that nobody cares about my fate or my fellow workers fate .ive been through this for 7 months and to you people in washington who think im looking for a handout, you are completely wrong!!!! i have worked my whole life and my wife has also ,just trying to make a decent living.and i want to continue to do so,i dont want to be on unemployment benifits,i think it is a shame for people like me that worked long and hard for what we've got,to possibly lose our house and everything we own, because there are not decent jobs out there, and the ones that you can make a decent living on ,the people in charge wont even give you a chance because of your age! i think its a pathetic injustice for all of us!all i want is a decent job to support my family,is that to much to ask in this country? i thought this was the greatest country in the world? i think the businesses in this country should start thinking of the way business used to be,to make a profit, and preserve jobs for all the people.not just think if we made 15 million in profit we need to make more, and cut jobs and put people in the street for no reason other than to make more profit! i think ive said enough,i think you people in washington need to stop acting like schoolboys and girls and do whats best for the people of this country, get together and make good strong decisions for the good of the people,we are the ones you work for!!!!! dont forget that!
