• Fire The Congress
With the fiscal cliff in front of us it is about time that Congress be brought to task. They have known about this deadline all year and yet have spent no time on what is one of the most important issues for the US in decades. Obama put his ideas before us in the election and he was voted back into office. It is Congress that is standing in the way of a compromise. It seems that Obama is the only one compromising. Sign this petition and place it on your own Facebook page.

  • State legal aid to municipalities
Walmart is forcing itself on Mt Pleasant by threat of legal action. There are 5 grocery stores in one mile. Now Sentry is closing, laying off 71 workers. Mt Pleasant council did not want another grocery store but was bullied by Walmart into allowing another Walmart grocery store. Because Mt pleasant can not compete with the legal resources of Walmart, the State should step in with assistance.

  • Tax salon services
Currently all salon services in the state of Washington are tax free. No sales tax, no luxury tax. Most of these services including haircare, nails, facials, massages etc. are services the well off indulge in. The state has continually used the "sin" tax to raise money by taxing beer and cigarettes (now weed too)...but, has never approched taxing the rich for their pampering in the salon. It would raise desperately needed money for the state and not effect the lower class.

  • Make Recycling More Accessible in Florida
As a young adult, I've lived in a lot of apartment complexes and worked in a lot of restaurants. None of them have had recycling centers on the premesis! I know a lot of people my age care about the environment and try to recycle, but what do you when your job forces you to throw away literally tons of recyclable materials like styrofoam and glass bottles? Or your nearest recycling center is ten miles away, instead of a few hundred feet like the apartment complex dumpster? I think for us to start planning a greener future we need to make recycling more accessible- put receptacles in restaurants and apartment complexes!

  • Chickens in the City of Aurora, IL
Chickens are currently allowed on properties that are at least 1 acre. However, by allowing backyard chickens on smaller lots, wholesome, cage free eggs will be more readily accessible. Children will learn responsibility and chickens will help with the daily chores such as getting rid of kitchen scraps and yard waste, and pest control.

  • Make Congress Do the Work
Congress refuses to do the jobs they have been elected to perform. We have all been affected by this issue, we need to let them know we are tired of their free ride on taxpayer money.

  • Ban Robo Telephone Calls (with certain exceptions)
Robocalls are becoming a vast nuisance. Even though I have been on the "Do Not Call" list since they started, I get at least two or three, often more robocalls which tie up the phone that I pay for, interupt what I am doing and are an invasion of my privacy. These calls should include all political calls, solicitation and sales calls. The only calls that should be permitted should be from local governments for emergencies, schools for the same reason or calls that one has given written permission to be made. These calls even come in on my cell phone which costs me minutes.

  • Constituent Campaign Contributions Act
This last election showed the effect uncontrolled money can have on our Democracy. Vast sums of money were spent to sway voters, and truth in advertising was noticeably absent. Money flowed into elections from out of state, from corporations, and special interests. People should only be able to contribute to campaigns where they are able to vote for the candidate.

  • Senators: Speed up the Presidential appointment process
Presidential nominations are yet another source of contentious and unnecessary political partisanship. Many judgeships sit vacant because the Senate will not act. Qualified candidates for all levels of leadership also are becoming targets, rather than being considered for their experience or qualifications. All this costs Americans money, slows government, and discourages talented and competent candidates. This must stop. So please, sign the petition below and show your disgust for this form of paralyzing Washington obstructionism. Tell the Senate, we want action.
