With another mass murder recently in the headlines, and one involving children while attending school, the time is now to place sensible restrictions on private gun ownership. The political right is fond of the idea of mandatory drug testing requirements for welfare recipients. Why not use their thinking and require mandatory drug testing for the right to possess firearms?

Gun violence is out of control. Citizens should be able to sue gun manufacturers and sellers for injury or death of their loved ones, as was the case before 2005 congressional action.

House and Senate are in charge of deciding what to do about social security and medicare that effect the American people, while they themselves continue to vote raises for themselves, have no term limits, legally take lobbyists money, have some of the richest pension plans in place and have their own special well funded health insurance. Why is this? Becoming a Senator or House Representative used to be about serving the people, not profitting from the people. We need to stop these practices and hold them to the same standard as they hold the average person that they are being "rewarded" to represent. The bonuses of receiving Lobbyists monies, insider trading, excessive traveling expenses, Washington DC apartment rents, etc., is enough. Term limits must be enacted immediately. Pension plans and health plans for representatives should not be "special" so that they are isolated from feeling the effects of their actions. Congress is out of control, lets take the action necessary to make profound changes for the future of our leadership.

Taking responsibility for the gun that you own. If you decide to buy a gun you must be responsible to society for all actions of that gun until sold, passed on, or retired from society by being destroyed. You put this gun into our society you must take responsibility for it's actions.

I have personally affected by couple of things that I think it is shame to have in our system. Meanwhile I am not sure if anyone will go along with it as it is different. The first thing is the illegal list of people that companies hold who have had work. comp. case in the past and no matter who is at fault they are denying employment without admitting it. The second one is our laws that :yes: and "no" decides who is guilty or not. I am being stalked for 30 years and recently is gone really bad. I have contacted FBI and police but although I am telling them I have witness and he is listening to my telephone conversations and destroying my computer but no one is listening as it is hard for having evidence and proof. I don't know how they are getting people on porn cases. In my case that guy has had a technician connected his computer to mine and he is loading with viruses........ This initially started by paying a Time Warner technician and getting into my service line and finally getting into my computer. He is having my computer’s registry modified so that it accepts viruses. There are many more that it is out of public’s patient to read. Although I have changed my service provider but he is still getting into my computer. Time Warner could help finding their own technician who help him for money but here again the top management must decide about it and it does not worth for them to spend time and money. Here again following the routine help the guilty party. I really am getting sick and I need help. I appreciate any help which will enable me to live a little normal! At this moment that I was preparing the petition, again he sent virus and I was not able to continue. I disconnected the internet and wrote this on a pad so that I can copy and paste very quick. I do not want to live on a battlefield with guns. Many are reluctant to give up their guns, but Controlling and limiting access to munitions May be more palatable to all.

Reducing gun violence by increasing the cost of ammunition to reduce the stock piling of ammunition for use in large magazines. Cheap bullets make taking life cheap.

The hugh negative foreign trade deficit in goods has cause the loss of millions of jobs in the USA. My own sons have been affected by this situation, as well as some others I know. Reducing this deficit by half will eliminate our unemployment problem.

Comprehensive registration of guns at point of purchase, and registration of guns at subsequent sale, transfer or gift of guns; halting sales of assault weapons and mass gun clips; and expanding mental health services to those in need. Whatever can be done to reduce the likelihood of another mass killing should be explored.
