  • Ban the 223 caliber cartridge
The 223 cartridge used in the M16 and AR15 follows the letter of the law of the Geneva Convention. It is copper clad and does not expand on impact. However it tumbles upon impact and tears the tissue apart having the same impact as banned expanding bullets. It violates the spirit of the Geneva Convention. It was used in the Slaughter of Innocents in Newtown, CT and Webster, NY. The 223 caliber bullet is in-humane and should be banned from military and civilian use. A description of the 223 bullet in a human body: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_m8omH47gI View the victim's portraits here: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887324481204578181244231543014.html BAN the 223 Bullet and Cartridge

  • Government expense Cuts
Equalizing the budget cuts on the table s we try to prevent the 'falloff of the fiscal clif' we should include 10-15% cut in thesalaries and pensionsof congress members and staff. Afterall they are siting around and not working just like 'retirees' who expect the 'entitlements' of Social Security and Medicare

  • Custodial parent childcare expenses
When I was trying to establish a child support order I was required by CSS to incur the child care expenses of my child without any support from the noncustodial parent. If I could not afford to pay they would not include the amount in the order. It took CSS 1.5 years to get to my case and I struggled trying to pay this in addition to taking care of my child alone to prove that this is a legitimate expense.

  • Stop Domestic Terrorism Now.
Since 1968 the National Rifle Association has been actively promoting the undermining of laws governing the regulation of firearms and has acted publicly and within its organization to promote domestic violence and terrorism by the policies it backs.

  • Budget Deficit Resolution
I am very concerned about the budget impasse and the looming fiscal cliff---the intransigence of our political leaders in not listening to constituents--but---especially to be responsible and accountable as elected representatives--to all constituents--not just their party--and to resolve issues which are compromising our democracy in a collaborative manner.

  • Ban Nuclear Weapons
World War II (when there was one nuclear armed nation) and the Cold War (when there were two nations armed with nuclear weapons and pledged to mutual assured destruction, "MAD") are now history. Here is the current status of nuclear weapons: 4,400 active nuclear warheads owned by 8 nations. Five of these (France, China, United Kingdom, Russia and United States) are signatories to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) in which they pledged to work toward the elimination of these weapons. Three nuclear-armed nations are not covered by the NPT (Israel, India and Pakistan). Other nations are suspected to be acquiring nuclear weapons (North Korea, Iran). Also, there are terrorists who might like to have a nuclear weapon in their arsenel. It is time to forever ban (not just limit the number) the possession of nuclear weapons. Use of tactical (tiny) nuclear weapons or strategic (big) nuclear weapons in a regional conflict have unimaginable consequences...and yet military strategists in each of the nuclear nations have scenarios for just such use. President Obama has stated his desire to eliminate nuclear weapons and he has just been given another 4 years to govern. Let's support him in convening a treaty-writing conference to eliminate all nuclear weapons with ENFORCEABLE inspection and verification by a strengthened United Nations body.
