Tell Congress and President Obama to leave Social Security alone.

As a working citizen watching welfare costs increase..and contributing to the Social Security fund..there is no reason we need to cut Social Security. IF we tax corporations appropriately and stop funding war we can survive as a nation

Legislators are discussing possible cuts to Social Security to help bring us back from the "fiscal cliff." We ALL know that this is the easy way out. Social Security benefits are VITAL to the health and well-being of today's middle-class seniors.

We want to have armed marshalls on duty in every school in America. The shooters of our innocent children like the gunman at Sandy Hook need to know that they will be met with force if they try to gun down innocents. We have them on all airplane flights since 911 and it serves as a very good deterrent.

I'm 69 years old and rely on my Social Security benefits which I paid taxes for. That was the deal. I'd pay taxes and when I retired, I'd get the benefits I was told I'd get. Don't allow your representatives to go back on that deal. And if you're still working, don't allow a precedent to be set that'll backfire on you.

My nephew has Asperger's. He collects SSI in order to try & help him be able to sustain himself. He's barely making it as it is. Cuts to his benefits would make it even harder for him to try & sustain keeping a roof over his head, food on his table, utility bills going, his car running, & his ongoing medications.

As the friend of an aspiring photographer I have a problem with Instagram STEALING our pics and being able to use them as advertisements without any recognition and/or royalties being paid to the original picture taker. This is a huge problem. Here is my friends response and I am in complete agreement: "As an aspiring photographer, the use of Instagram and other social media networks are especially important when trying to promote my work. One of the best aspects of these portals, is that they are free and I know my photos will always have my name attached to them. The idea of Instagram being able to utilize my photography for advertising purposes, without the attachment of my name to the work, is outrageous--in my opinion. I believe that if such stipulations will be placed on the use of Instagram, the least they could do is give the original photographer some credit. While some users use Instagram solely for fun, I am someone that takes pride in what I post to showcase to my followers. I want to make sure that it is great work and they it is art that can be appreciated. Is this really too much to ask for?" We must demand that Instagram treats its users fairly, so please SignOn and let your frustrations be heard!

Nero was the Roman emperor who is said to have fiddled while Rome burned. It’s not clear whether the fire was a case of arson or simply an accident, which wasn’t unusual for that day, but the entire word is burning today (or at least getting quite a bit warmer) and it isn’t any accident. We might think of Nero having “fiddled while Rome burned” when we contemplate what we are doing today by adding greenhouse gasses to the atmosphere. Collectively, we carry on business as usual while consuming an ever-increasing amount of fossil-fuels and other finite resources, shrugging our shoulders at the damage that now rather obviously derives from our irresponsible ways.

Making the rich pay there fair share

As a Clinical Social Worker, I'm deeply saddened by the leaders of our country to ignore Mental Health Issues. We need funding now!! Teachers tell us they evaluate and spot children with emotional issues early in school, yet they and their families are not treated due to funding. We cannot ignore these issues any longer. I'm deeply disappointed with the National Association for Social Workers that they, too, are not outspoken about the work that Clinical Workers can provide. I am 55 years old have been unable to find work for the last 3 plus years and I feel a lot of it is because of my age. I want legislations that prohibits this practice under any circumstances including loopholes that allow businesses and corporations to disquise this.
