The normal person in America cannot take a hit with more taxes. We want you to do your jobs Congress! There is not one good reason the middle income or the poor should be hit while not asking the highest incomes to do their fair share.

I'm a member of United Auto Workers Local 2350. I work for state employees in California. Every day I fight to maintain or improve state employees' benefits, but my own healthcare has been secretly and illegally cut. Two months ago Management circumvented our union and illegally imposed vicious cuts that as of Jan. 1, 2013, will drastically cut healthcare benefits for current employees and future retirees, and eliminate retiree healthcare for all new hires. The healthcare cuts unfairly impact lower income workers and those with families. We need you to stand with working class families and tell the California State Employees Association (CSEA) and its affiliates - the Association of California State Supervisors (ACSS), California State Retirees (CSR), and California State University Employees Union (CSUEU) - to retract their illegally imposed healthcare attacks and return to the bargaining table!

Calif. lets too much potential revenue go to our neighbor, Nevada. This money can be kept at home to address our budget deficit.

US soldiers continue to die in Afghanistan. As recently as November 16, U.S. Army Sgt. Channing "Bo" Hicks 24, was killed Nov. 1 by an improvised explosive device and small arms fire in Afghanistan. Please STOP this War with No-End, for several hundred years no one has ever truly conquered Afghanistan, or have won a war in Pakistan-Afghanistan region.

I propose a National Lottery that will pay off the winners' mortgage. Those with mortgages will have their homes paid off, with no monetary exchange. Winners will furnish mortgage and bank information, and payment is made to the bank up to $300,000 each.

Burma/Myanmar has announced to the world that it is entering a reform period toward democracy, but the recent crackdown on peaceful protesters - mostly Buddhist monks- reveals the ugly truth. Unless basic measures are taken to honor the people's right to freedom of expression, the reform process is exposed as a sham intended merely to bring legitimacy to the government rather than true change in society. The United States has been praising the reform measures taken thus far and responded with extensive rewards for good behavior. But the White House also has the responsibility to condemn human rights violations and remind the Thein Sein administration that the world is watching more closely than ever.
