Gilda's Club is a non-profit organization that exists to provide a place for people living with cancer, their families and friends to come for emotional support. It is named after the late, great Gilda Radner, who died from ovarian cancer in 1989. It was founded by her husband, Gene Wilder, Joanna Bull, Radner's cancer psychotherapist during the time she had cancer, and broadcaster Joel Siegel. Now they want to change the name to "Cancer Support Community" as they feel younger people don't know who Gilda was and therefore there is no meaning in the name. As a single mom who is fighting cervical cancer, I assure you, the name means something. I don't want to go to a "Cancer Support Community." I hear the word cancer enough on a daily basis. It is sterile and meaningless. It is not a home. It is not a safe place. It is not a place I feel I can turn to. Gilda's Club is. Gilda once said cancer gave her "membership to an elite club I'd rather not belong to." THAT is a concept we all can relate to. THAT is someplace that I know will understand. There are many organizations, educational institutes, hospitals, and more named after people that the younger generations may not know. They are named after these people for reasons. Instead of striping them of their names, let us educate and keep the memory of those people alive. Gilda deserves it. Please help us keep the Gilda in Gilda's Club.

Current US foreign policy is benevolent and non engaged in promoting real democracy in African countries ruled by dictators such as the case of Cameroon in Central Africa. President Paul Biya has ruled Cameroon for 30 years through fraudulent elections and on one occasional paid retired congress people huge sums of money to validate a frudulent election. Under President Paul Biya, Cameroon has remained stagnant with doctors doing major surgery without the use of anesthestics. Many young Cameroonians are denied the opportunities to educate themselves or to be gainfully employed leading to droves of Cameroonians leaving the country by any means possible and occasionally losing their lives when attempting to cross the Sahara desert to reach Europe. Seeking opportunities in other countries has become a major factor linked to lack of opportunities for Africans in their own countries despite vast potential and resources. Dictatorship such as the entrenched one one in Cameroon has seen a few elites concentrating all the wealth into their own hands with no resources allocated to healthcare, infrastructure, education and much more. American policy makers have to be better educated to bubble up more proactive policies that would improvee the lives of Africans. Joey prayed to be reconnected with his mom but through errors, mismanagement of power, and lack of ability to correct the errors or hold the state accountable Joey remained separated from him mom and biological family members. Joey's mom ran out of money and hope after being separated from her child for over a year. She died. Thousands of children across the country say the same prayer. Let us provide "mirrors and windows" so the Child Protective Services Child and Family Services may be held accountable for misuse of power and make changes so their behavior is visible and go back to helping children who really need it in productive ways rather than needlessly growing departments.

The City Creek Mall claims Taubman owns the mall, but it was made with LDS money. The church is not meant to be a profitable entity, it is meant to help individuals to find Christianity, a hospital for the sick of soul, to build churches, their temples and promote charitable donations and work. Instead, Taubman has created a luxurious mall with member’s money (if not, where else did the money come from?). Even if members stop all of their donations, the church would remain wealthy for several decades. So why is the church in the business of building and renting real estate? Have the principles of the church changed? Have the prophet received a revelation to destroy the existing Salt Lake downtown economy affecting every small business in a 3 mile radius? Why has the church decided to impact businesses such as The Gateway Mall? Did you know The Gateway was created because of the 2002 Winter Olympic games and it is an icon of everything it stands for? Is the City Creek, who serves a small wealthy community, more important than an Olympic icon that brings all communities together regardless of color, sexual orientation, race, belief or religion? Did you know Salt Lake City was recommended by the Olympic committee to place another bid for the 2026 winter games? Could the City Creek affect the existing icons? If lost, would you miss any of the Olympic icons? Could that affect the Culture and traditions created back in 2002? Did you know that with exception of a few stores, the majority of the Small City Creek stores, 4000sqf and under, do not currently generate enough revenue to be profitable? Having asked all of these questions, why did the church decided to destabilize the downtown economy with such luxury when it teaches its members to live frugally and humbly? I propose a pledge to boycott the City Creek Mall permanently. The church built ZCMI, it failed, the church built the City Creek and it is affecting the jobs of thousands for no good reason. The church doesn't need the money, it collect donations from it's members. The City Creek will fail like ZCMI did, the signs are already out there. It is up to us to accelerate the process and protect our friends and family who depend on commerce City Creek has been destroying. Keep The LDS Church religious, let people be responsible for the downtown business.

Grover Norquest proposes that the republicans should hold our president our economy, and our government hostage week by week over raising the debt ceiling and of course threatens every republican in congress with election defeat if they vote to raise taxes in any way. I suggest that this is a position of economic terrorism against the people and government of the United States and that every American should make it clear to Mr. Norquist and Americans For Tax Reform that we will stop him/them. The American middle class has been under financial assault for decades now and we must fight back. Start by letting Mr. Norquist know that you will vote in 'every' election and work to get out the vote in 'every' election to make sure that elected officials that interfere with the economic well being of our country and our government are voted out of office. Let him/them know that he/they may not take our government hostage and that we consider him/them economic terrorists.

Currently, only the first $110,100 of wages/salary is taxed; income beyond $110,100, as well as investment income, is Social Security tax-free. Save Social Security by requiring the rich to pay their fair share.
