Compromise and move on

The members of Congress have for years blamed each other for this nation's problems. They are all responsible for the mess we are in.

Negative ads are bad enough but when they're untrue, it gives the voter a distorted view of their choices. This act would allow voters to make their choices based on actual qualifications rather than having to sort through lies and scare tactics.

They encountered a terrible loss once again. This time from SANDY! The middle class family CRUSHED . Our HEROS are in need of the nations help now. They gave us firemen, police men, EMTS, nurses, EVERY ONE in Staten Island helped in 911 .. Lets clean up Staten Island for them . Thanks Joanne Smith

We are all effected by the work of lobbyist. We elect an individual to go to Washington or a state capital to represent us; and all to often our representative votes the way they are paid to vote by a lobbyist.

The Supreme Court decision in Citizens United allowing for unlimited contributions to Super PACs has the potential to destroy the fabric of our American democracy. I am proposing that Congress format an amendment to the constitution that: 1) immediately nullifies Citizens United by 2) limiting the amount of money any individual or corporation may contribute to a political campaign 3) while requiring full public disclosure of the funds contributed, and finally 4) setting limits on the total amount spent on a political campaign for national office and 5) banning political television and radio commercials altogether. The effect of this amendment would be to limit the political campaign to issues and real debates between candidates bringing a sanity back to the political process in the United States.

As a way to reduce military spending President Obama should establish a Commission to study the feasibility of closing some U.S. military instulations located on foreign soil. This Commission would report back to the President within one year with recomendations for the closing of overseas U.S. military instulations. The closures would encompass roughly %50 of U.S. military personel and roughly %50 of all foreing instulations. To be implemented within 10 years.

NJ has the highest property tax in the country, and it is affecting families across the state including myself. Plus since governor Christie came to power the people of NJ making less than $250,000 a year have not received their tax rebate back on top of paying those high property tax which is also affecting middle and working class families in NJ.

If we can stop the one term, full benefits rule for our leaders just think of the savings.

As parents, students, and teachers, we see, feel, and think the right to an equal education has been denied. Education policies place test performance over learning. Education is a human and civil right. As a nation we cannot deny the next generations their rights and every opportunity to learn and grow. We, the people, must preserve, transform, and strengthen public education so that every child, regardless of their socioeconomic status and race, has an equal chance to succeed. The U.S. Postal Service plans to close the mail processing plant located @ 1499 Martin Luther King Drive, Gary, IN in Feb. 2013. The mail from the Gary plant will be processed in South Suburban, IL. The Gary plant will lose approx. 200 jobs. Not only will we be losing jobs, the mail is going to be delayed. First class mail will never be the same. Please help us to stop this disaster from happening.
