Kentucky Utilities has proposed to increase its electric rates across all classes of customers in order to generate an additional $82.4 million in revenue per year. KU estimates that with their increase in fees the average bill, approx. $95.00 would rise by $7.41 to $99.71. Most of this increase would come from raising the monthly service charge from $8.50 to $13. The charge per kilowatt-hour (a kilowatt-hour is the amount of electricity used by a 100-watt light bulb in 10 hours) would be raised from 6.987 cents to 7.235 cents. KU and LG&E say the base rate increases are needed to pay for upgrades to electric transmission and distribution systems, improvements at electric generating facilities and the hiring of additional employees, particularly in its customer service operation. The companies also cited increased costs to comply with tighter federal cyber security standards. How necessary are these fees? Who would get these jobs? Boehner and his tax initiative of NOT taxing the wealthy has got to go! President Obama's plan is to tax the wealthy and have them pay their fair share! We are tired of the same old idea's that have NOT worked and that cause gridlock in Congress! It's time for change in America Congress we want to move forward! Congress is very unpopular with Americans and has the lowest rating ever! American's do NOT want to hear Boehner repeat his same old agenda over and over again! We are tired of the Republican agenda they are trying to pass with NO negotiating on their part or any results to move America forward!! This is why we vote President Obama back in we want change and do NOT want to hear the same plan by Republicans and NO negotiation on their part!

Paul Krugman is a Nobel Prize winning economist whose views consistently prove to be correct. Most recently he argued that in the current Republican manufactured budget crisis "No deal is better than a bad deal." Mitch McConnell and John Boehner continue to run the same game plan they had before the election. President Obama must be smarter than Charlie Brown and refuse to try to kick the political football again. We need Paul Krugman at Treasury.

I'm a older woman on ssi and it has come to my attention that I'm unable to get dental care it's been cut out of the program I need help living on fix income after food, housing cost and gas, their no money left for repair for myself .

This is to send a message to all of congress that we are tired of them collectively not doing their jobs. If congress remains in a gridlock of failure we will vote out every incumbent that is up for election in 2014. We will do the same in 2016. We won’t continue to do the same thing and expect different results.

The arbitrary election rules in each state are unacceptable and supress the vote. Unecessary long lines, fewer days for early voting and the voter-id scams need to stop. We need the same rules in all states. Period!

The people of the United States deserve to know the truth, the facts so we can choose our leadership with clarity and without distractions.

Please ask your own favorite UPS package delivery driver about this counter productive, abusive labor practice by one of the big employers in the USA. And tell UPS Mgmt you will be using FedEx and the Post Office and other package services ... until they publicly sign a written promise to its hard working employees that this abusive corp. practice will "stop immediately and never happen again". So UPS drivers will not be forced to waste time by driving away from the co. property "hub" to unload all packages, find the rush packages , reload a "rough sort" often in the rain and snow, and still be expected to meet their computer counted to the second daily delivery load times.

Could we as a nation respond to national emergencies better and more effectively while simultaneously cutting our military budget and providing great opportunities for our military personnel who would otherwise be forced to look for jobs in the private sector? I am looking to see a restructuring of FEMA so that the response to national emergencies is stronger and more diversified by enlisting outgoing military personal and their training to better respond to our nations needs. This could provide job opportunities to our veterans, and assist in rebuilding our nation when disasters strike.
