Voters in Affected Areas Not Able to Vote on 11/6As a consequence to the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy, not everyone who is eligible to vote on Tuesday is going to be able to vote. This is an urgent matter to be addressed immediately -- before it is too late. We are affected as individuals, families and members of communities which have all been affected by the hurricane. It is likely that residents of areas that are without power will not have power back before Tuesday and therefore, will not be able to cast their ballots. Many are not in their homes and are not in proximity to their voting stations. In addition, it is likely that polling stations are not fully functional as a result of the devastation to many places along the Eastern Seaboard. Moreover, at this point in time, many people do not have enough gasoline to drive to the polling stations. It is imperative that everyone have an equal opportunity to vote. With lives as compromised as they are now, alternative arrangements must be made for those who are not able to vote on Tuesday.73 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Marisha

Ask the Obama family to have a vegan ThanksgivingEvery year the president pardons a pair of turkeys on Thanksgiving and then sits down to a large meal including turkey for dinner. End this hypocrisy by urging the Obama family to set the right example for American by eating an all vegan meal on Thanksgiving. As a country the United States continues to become more obese, and have some of the highest rates of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, breast and prostate cancer, and osteoporosis in the world despite having some of the best medical technology. All of these health issues have been found to be related to the consumption of animal protein in our diet. Many of these can be prevented and some even reversed with a vegan diet. The Obama family can set the tone for lower medical costs and better health in America by consuming a compassionate all vegan Thanksgiving dinner. Please join me in asking the Obama family to have an all vegan Thanksgiving dinner.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Rock Hoyer

Co-Op CorporationsWe have suffered wage stagnation too long - we've exhausted ourselves working long hours & multiple jobs. We've allowed too many of our jobs to be sent to other lower wage economies. we are beyond the limits of human possibility. Workers ought to have a say in EVERY business in our country - it's not socialism - it's common sense and the Christian thing to do - "all are equal in the eyes of God".26 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Angad Singh

PBS: Show us what you're good for!33 years ago the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) was created to provide quality educational programming to the American people; they have done so with many award winning series (see links below). Unfortunately, many of their best programs are no longer available, or are only accessible via commercial DVDs or streaming, which make them inaccessible to low-income & bandwidth-limited schools & families most in need of what PBS has to offer. Today their federal funding is under threat; we're asking PBS, as a public service, to release medium-resolution subtitled versions of their past programming to download, distribute, & display for non-commercial purposes, so that everyone can make use of this great public resource, & appreciate what public broadcasting has to offer. Please Seek DOJ Investigation of Romney & eToys 2001 Frauds?Mitt Romney's Bain Capital and their attorneys tried to bribe us to be willfully blind to their federal fraud and corruption in 2001 (the eToys case). We found Smoking Gun evidences that forced confessions by (secret) Bain Capital attorneys (that they lied under oath 34 times over several years). Campaign Phone Calls Need RegulationI have received 3 phone calls a week for the last 8 weeks from my local Democratic campaign office. I can't imagine what it must be like if in a swing state! The calls border harassment when you've asked to be removed, but continue to receive calls. According to the office official, there are multi-databases with my information and no way to be removed from them. We need a federal law mandating campaign's manage their databases, and like with the unsubscribe option on campaign emails, remove yourself from these phone calls.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Gary Fox

Mr. Stiritz, your box says you agree. Now make gmo's a part of it.Wether you agree or disagree on the issue, I believe you have a basic right to know what is in your food , and it seems Post cereal should share the sentiment. So I am asking Post to put their livelyhood where their mouth is. You see they seem to be sloganing for what everyone who is battling for gmo labeling is thinking. Don't believe me? Read their box. "Wouldn't it be great if it were easy to understand what is in your food?" Couldn't agree more. That's why I'm here writing this in hopes that post sees it and responds with a backing of proposition 37 in california.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Michael Rapp

Lie in Office: Go to JailIt is a given in our political system that politicians are liars. Why is that? We are facing critical problems, unprecedented problems, and yet our office holders and office seekers routinely lie in order to promote the agendas of people who seek, mainly, personal profit at the cost of the nation. We are at a point where lying politicians can literally destroy the future of our country, and indeed the world. I'm calling for mandatory jail time for office seekers and office holders who make any misstatement of fact, of any kind, in a campaign or in office. Lying should be illegal. Lying in public office is treason.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Thomas Crawford

Mississippi Student Bill of Rights - Louisville, MSLouisville Municipal School District students and parents are calling for the immediate adoption of the Mississippi Student Bill of Rights by their schools. The MS SBR's articulate ten rights that all MS students should have in their schools. For too long our rights have been consistently and routinely violated; this must stop immediately and the protections of MS SBR must be adopted by our schools. Students deserve the right to be treated humanely, with respect, free from discrimination and prejudice as they pursue their education. Students deserve exceptional teachers, administrators, and other staff whose first goal is always the best interest of the students. Students deserve resources and information that will provide us with opportunities to achieve our full potential. The school environment must be a conducive place for learning and achieving, not a place of criminalization and penalization. Students are the future of MS, we should be treated as such if this state is to succeed and prosper. Adopting the MS SBR is a necessary and critical step in achieving all of this for Louisville Municipal School District students. Mississippi Student Bill of Rights Educate.Agitate.Organize. Preamble: Our future depends on our preparation. We’re standing up for a real education. All students regardless of status deserve a free, quality public education; education is a human right. For far too long MS has perpetuated a system full of inequalities and inequities. We demand that those in power recognize these very serious historical and contemporary issues and take immediate actions to rectify them for the best interest of all Mississippi’s students. We will work together to keep our decision makers accountable to those they represent; ensuring a bright, prosperous future for all Mississippians. These 10 points below represent how we can achieve this for all students: 1. Equal Opportunity: Equal quality education must be provided for all of us without regard to gender, race, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, sex, religion, national origin, or any other category that makes us the unique individuals we are. 2. Real Information: We must have access to real information and knowledge about sex, teen pregnancy, STDs and how these things affect our bodies and communities. Drugs are easier to find than real, accurate medical information about my body. 3. Respect: Treat us as key partners in changing our schools by ending the overly harsh, overly relied on zero-tolerance policies that push youth out of schools into the School to Prison Pipeline. The reliance on police in schools creates a hostile, prison-like environment that takes away our power to positively influence our schools and communities. 4. Safety: Every school must be a safe and supportive place for learning. To create a positive, productive learning environment we must feel comfortable and secure in our schools at all times. 5. The Best Teachers: End the reliance on faulty, inaccurate, and biased standardized testing by investing in us and providing us with the best teachers who inspire quality results in reading, writing, science, art, and music. 6. Tools: Provide us with the resources needed to learn: books, lab supplies, musical instruments, art supplies, computers, and the latest educational technology that will help us be competitive in the 21st century. 7. Leadership: We hold all leaders accountable for vision, courage, and results. We will do this by actively participating and pressuring our leaders to do what is best for us. 8. Extracurriculars: We deserve quality out of school activities to expand our opportunities and skills that give us safe, fun, and enriching places to be when not in school. 9. Starting Younger: We deserve quality pre-Kindergarten education. Kindergarten should be the next step, not the first step, in education. 10. Ready for Life: Our diplomas must not just be a piece of paper. Our leaders must take the necessary steps to ensure that our diplomas mean that we are ready for college, work, and life. TRUE VOTER’S CHOICE: Add “None of the Above’ to Federal Election BallotsOver time, I have heard a great number of people express dissatisfaction with most of the presidential and congressional candidates presented by both major parties. Many did, and do, not bother to vote for this reason. Others still felt that it was their civic duty to participate in elections, but often lacked enthusiasm for most candidates. Their justification to choose one opponent over another was, and often still is, one of two mantras: 1. “I choose the lesser of two evils” or 2. “I rather elect the devil I know than the devil I don’t” Unfortunately, candidates believe that in order to get the most votes they must please all people. They try to not offend anyone by tailoring their campaign speeches and slogans to different audiences and telling them what they want to hear, taking no clear stand on any issue. This leads to parties selecting their most mediocre candidates. Voters are faced with the dilemma of being forced to pick someone with whom they cannot identify or empathize. The result is one of the lowest voter turnouts of all democracies and the winning candidates often not representing The People – thus, in the long run threatening our Democracy. Adding an additional row at the bottom of each candidate box on ballots for federal elections (president and congress) stating “None of the Above” gives voters the choice to reject all listed candidates. By giving voters this alternative, they can show their displeasure with the current antiquated system. A “win” of “None of the Above” will create an impasse that should compel politicians to reform it by creating a new, viable and fair system that is approved by the American people and gives them a broader and just choice in selecting its representatives.12 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Dieter Bartels
