This petition is to add more math 104A classes to CSULA.

I have had issues with depression when I first started college and began involving friends and staff but felt that, although they had the best intentions, tried to help in ways that made matters worse for the both of us. A group of us would like to see a policy implemented that requirs colleges and universities to include, in their curriculum, education on mental health awareness as a prevention tool for students and staff. There are counselors available and that is wonderful but peers and staff can help even more by knowing what to do and what not to do when faced with a frien, peer, or student that is showing signs of mental illness especially depression. Saying or doing the wrong thing can make matters much worse.

Every four years the major media outlets have declared the winners in Federal elections before the polls in California, Alaska and Hawaii close. The votes in those states are marginalized by the already declared winner. There should be a election law that Major Media Outlets are prohibited from making any national projection until the polls in these western states are closed. They can report present, official vote totals when that individual state poll closes, but no national projection on the next President of the United States. (or lessor federal office)

Women have a difficult time breathing in mid to late stages of pregnancy. During my pregnancy there were times, day and night, that I had to stop and rest on a stranger's car while walking through the parking lot of a business. I think that there should be designated expectant mom parking near the entrance of all businesses so that a pregnancy is not put at risk due to symptoms brought on by long distance walking.

Friends, it is time to hold politicians accountable for their actions. We recently invited Jeff Flake to speak to our community and he completely ignored us. As undocumented youth, we are tired of being played as a political football. Flake went on a Spanish news paper recently saying he will vote yes on the DREAM Act. HOWEVER, when he had the chance in 2010 as a House Rep. he voted NO! Tell Flake to stop the lies, stop flip flopping and stop playing with our lives.

I am Adonis Flores, a student leader at Wayne State University, and public relations director of my fraternity. I have lived in the United States since I was brought to Detroit by my parents as a child. I've been an active advocate for the DREAM Act, a spokesperson regarding the issues affecting students, and have organized forums on the issue for everyone from students to union members. Recently, I've been active organizing students to support DREAM Relief and voter registration efforts. Secretary of State Ruth Johnson just announced she's denying drivers licenses to young immigrants who have been allowed to stay under a recent action by the Obama Administration. So I'm calling on Ruth Johnson to give drivers licenses to DREAMers, because it's not right to tell us we can work but we can't drive.

Provide the benefits the unemployed need, while the unemployed provide services the government needs.

250 million adults over the age of 18 living in the US, all having the opportunity to donate $3 to the general election campaign on their yearly tax return (x's 4 years, that a lot of money!) simply by ticking the little box on your return. Its paid by the government so your tax return doesn't change.

Our congresspeople are signing pledges to a lobbyiest that swears not to raise taxes under any circumstances, in spite of the fact that we have a ballooning deficit and polls show that most americans agree that we should both cut spending AND raise taxes to combat the deficit. These congresspeople are violating their oath of office and should be impeached!

It is time that we focus on building the infrastructure within our country and not throw away precious resources building more naval ships and ammunition and arms that will kill people! Let us prioritize our resources and do what does the most good for our people - jobs, healthy economy and health for ALL!
