• Free Livio (A77023995)!
Livio Arias Torres (A77023995) is our beloved community Artist-Activist in Chelsea.. Twelve years ago, Livio came to the U.S. from Venezuela and applied for political asylum in 2011; however, an incompetent lawyer messed up Lívio’s application. Despite all this, Livio continues to give: teaching music classes to children and adults, directing Iglesia San Lucas’s choir, and volunteering in many organizations: Casa de la Cultura, Enlazando Fronteras, Roca, etc. Now Livio, a 70-year old music teacher, has been detained at South Bay Detention Ctr. since September 2012! Help us free Livio! Let Livio free to teach to our youth, create art & better our community now!

  • Who Benefits From Millions Spent of Campaign
This election has garnered more millions than any other to support candidates running for office. All the candidates talk about caring about the people of the United States while spending great amounts of money to "call each other names" in the national Media. This needs to change. FOR EVERY $5.00 A CAMPAIGN RECEIVES THEY SHOULD BE DONATING $2.00 TOWARDS A "COMMON GOOD" CAUSE.

  • Reschedule the NYC Marathon
Emergency Service workers on the East Coast have been working non-stop to help families get their lives back in order after the devistation of Hurricane Sandy. Mayor Bloomberg would like the NYC Marathon to go on as scheduled, but that would divert resources from the NYPD and FDNY that are needed in hurricane clean-up efforts.

  • Protect the SF Bay from rising sea levels
San Francisco as we know it will not exist if sea levels rise temporarily from a Tsunami or permanently from what seems like the inevitable climate change other countries have planned for. The least we can do is let our political leaders know, we want to pay now instead of paying later and losing our beloved coastline.

  • stop the NYC ING MARATHON
So many people in the tri-state area have been impacted by the devastation of hurricane Sandy. Let's use our resources to help those in need, instead of having a marathon.

  • Postpone the NY Marathon; All Resources to Sandy Recovery
It's been less than a week since one of the most devastating environmental disasters this country has ever seen. Hundreds of thousands in New York and the surrounding area are struggling without electricity, food, clean water and transportation. This is the worst of all times to have 50,000 people going to New York, disrupting its transportation and diverting its resources from people who direly need them. Postpone the New York Marathon.

  • Legalize Backyard Hens in South Daytona, Fl
I am trying to reverse a wrong that has classified chickens as farm animals. Yes, they provide a superior protein, eggs, but they are no different than any other bird kept as pets in our city now(although, they may be quieter). We do have to think about our one grocery store for 12,250 residents while we sit in a potential natural disaster area. Food security needs to be restored as a natural human right.

  • Turn Climate Change Around
Scientists tell us that burning fossil fuels has caused the global climate changes that lead to droughts and floods and eventually threaten the ability of humans to survive on Earth. To turn the situation around we've got to stop burning petroleum.
