• Freedom
After serving 23 years of my life in the military, retired nearly 3 yrs ago, lived a drug-free life with exception of what was prescribed, became a cannabis patient after voters passed Prop 203 and got arrested for possession of a few grams. I was also pulled out of college class humiliated, told I had no rights and had my bag searched for being a public (out of closet) cannabis advocate/patient. I was on mind altering psychotropic drugs throuhgout my career 23 years in the Air Force and became 70% disabled due to the harmful side effects I experienced with the prescriptions. I become a cannabis patient after learning of the healing benefits and juicing has NO psychoactive effect with 60X's more healing benefit than smoking. But I'm being persecuted, arrested, and humiliated while trying to get an education, for what the voters of Arizona voted for. Starting to realize the freedom I gave 23 years of my life defending was not true and breaks my heart to learn. This petition is for our politicians to swear to give their life in defending our freedom and stop passing laws that take more of our rights and freedoms away in our country. Thank you!!

  • Public Land Preservation
Public lands are being taken over and monopolized by the elite 1% who profit by the below cost programs for their exclusive benefit. These profiteers are often foreign corporations. I live in an in holding surrounded by National Forest Land. I have suffered continual abuse by hunters that consider my property part of their hunting grounds and trespass as a heritage right. I have observed that the Forest Service does not abide by their own rules and is more interested in marketing and destroying our forests than protecting them. Further the USFS is more responsive to hunting and pro gun factions than the majority of other forest users or respecting private property.

  • Stop Bullying and Sexual Harassment of Women at Colorado College
Many female students, faculty and staff have been bullied, harassed and sexually harassed by male faculty, staff and students at Colorado College in Colorado Springs, CO. Most of the time nothing is done. It is covered up by "loud" advertising of sexual harassment workshops on their web site which everyone on campus is to attended. However, when an incident happens it is brushed under the rug. The incidents happen so often that a group of women on campus formed a committee to keep track of them. So far they have no voice.

  • separate "church" and "state"
I object to goverment telling us a union between people is not marriage, or that a fertilied human ovum is a human being. That is for Theologians, not our government to decide.

  • Capital Investment Fairness & Equity Assurance
To require the SEC to genuinely access company valuations for all mergers and acquisitions such that sellers and buyers must contract on actual valuations of assets. Purpose would be to remove incentives for sales of business for wildly more than what they're worth due to deeply embedded assets that can only be realized by mass lay-offs or pilfering of accumulated long term assets.

  • tax break for car less citizens
A tax break for those who do not own a car. As a bike rider I feel it is not my responsibility to have to pay for the expense of our unsustainable transportation system. Oil subsidies are not in my representation of my tax dollars and others without cars should not have to be responsible for the tax burden created by automobiles.

  • Mayor Emanuel, stop the commercials!
The Chicago teachers strike is over. Mayor Emanuel and his "education reform" allies are spending a huge amount of money bombarding the airwaves with propaganda that is misleading and untrue. It's time to end the commercials and have these rich donors give the money to causes (non-ideological causes) that improve the lives of Chicago's children.

  • Republican Governor Kasich: Do not decrease Ohio's budget for persons with disabilites on Medicaid
I have a 28 year old who also has severe Autism and Down Syndrome. He was not eligible for any form of Medicaid until he was 18 years old due to the household income of 2 working parents. Today he is dependent on Ohio Medicaid for his multiple health issues and his private program he attends Monday through Friday. Do not hurt our people who need to keep their Medicaid entitlements and have no voice for themselves. My son is non verbal and cannot speak for himself. We, as registered voters in Ohio must uphold his and many others rights a citizens to have health care and other rights and opportunities to achieve their fullest potential.

  • 4% Interest Rate for All
I have a mortgage rate of 6 1/4%, I am paying way more than I need too but can't refinance because of current banking rules. I want a new law to be written that states everyone in America is entitled to a 4% interest rate on there primary residence without influence by the credit score industry. This is especially important in view of the Libor scandal currently going on, where banks have been rigging interest rates, to there benefit, for years. I want interest rates to be rigged for the benefit of Americans. This law would have to include a provision that makes it illegal to deny refinancing to anyone, as a way for banks to continue robbing Americans. It is discriminatory to offer one interest rate to the rich and another to the poor, this needs to be stopped and made fair and equal. It would also jump start the economy in a way nothing else can, and lead to a fair and honest housing market in America.

  • $200 or $26,000 a month.
And that 26k is not a car payment for a Ferrari. That is the broad range that Americans have to pay for non generic drugs. And now the pharmacist lobbyists want to extend the time the it takes prescription drugs from reaching the market from 5 years to 10 years. And if you are like me who has to pay $300 a month to pay for his prescriptions because my insurance will not cover it and can't afford to get better insurance, this is not acceptable. But this is even more absurd for those such as cancer patients or others with serious mental health disorders who have to pay more a month than people in the %1 even make a year. This petitions goal is to reduce the time it takes prescription drugs to become generic by changing the law from 5 years to 3 years, and to limit how much drug companies can charge a pill for a months worth of medication.

  • Orange County Supervisors: Vote "NO" on Saddle Crest, Support Foothill Trabuco Specific Plan.
The Foothill Trabuco Specific Plan (FTSP) requires development in Trabuco Canyon to be rural in character and protect the area's ancient oak forests, scenic ridgelines, and other cherished natural resources. But Rutter Development Corporation refuses to follow the FTSP and instead proposes gutting it, along with the Orange County General Plan, to allow construction of its 65-unit suburban sprawl "Saddle Crest" housing tract along Santiago Canyon Road north of Cook's Corner. Rutter's amendments would allow him to congest 2-lane Santiago Canyon Road, cut down over 150 mature oak trees, bulldoze ridgetops, and fill up canyons over 70 feet deep, and any developer coming after him to do the same. We are asking Orange County supervisors to say "NO" to Saddle Crest and Rutter's plan gutting amendments when they vote on October 2.
