We DO NOT want tract housing in DurhamI myself have lived in Durham my whole life. This "track housing" will destroy our small town and turn it into a mini city. Durham has had many businesses come and go and yes we could use a few upgrades but adding 144 families will only bring big chain grocery stores, coffee shops, pharmacies ect. THE MEETING IS THIS THURSDAY Oct. 25th @9am at 25 county center drive Oroville. That is the same exit and street that the court house is on.169 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Christina

Limit Credit Card Interest RatesNothing has hindered my personal financial recovery more than excessive credit card interest rates. I feel that credit card interest is a tax on debt and should be limited.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Doug Baier

Eliminating GMO grown foodstuffThis is a health issue. In 2007 when President Obama was running for election he stated he was going to have all GMO products labelled. He has not tackled this subject yet. I would like to see the president, if re-elected for another term address this important topic. Monsanto, the producer of GMO products, is fully aware of all the dangers to our health if they continue to use the herbicides and pesticides, which they are manufacturing and growing all our food with. Studies have shown that all these herbicides and pesticides are harmful to our health.12 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Nirmilla Jitta

Live Like the PeopleBoth sides of the aisle have, will or are screaming about the National Debt and the need to get it lower yet they refuse to even look at the number one best tool toward a balanced budget - a line item veto. Every past President has lamented not having one but Congress will not listen1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Byron Knepp

Heal the Body PoliticThe obscene amount of money spent in this election cycle is contaminating the Body Politic. President Obama was responsible for passing Health Care Reform (The Affordable Care Act). Now we need him to take leadership on appointing Supreme Court Justices that will take a favorable position on overturning Citizens United.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Michael T. Smith, Ph.D.

Congressional Reform Act of 2013We the people no longer find the current legislative practices fair to the public. We have a situation where the FOX has been left in charge of the Hen House scenario. 1. Congress should work for a retirement just like any other federal employee. 2. Congress should have medical benefits while in office which are the same as that received by any other federal employee. 3. Our soldiers serve 20 years in order to receive a full pension, so should any members of congress. 4. Retired members of congress must use the benefit of Social Security and Medicare, the same as any other citizen. They may purchase supplemental and prescription insurance the same as any other citizen. 5. Bills brought before congress are subject to veto by the president on a line by line expense basis. We need to eliminate bills which members can not support because it contains amendments that append other legislation to a bill. We need to have a congress that serves the needs of the PEOPLE and not the whims of their political party. The current retirement and benefit system afforded a President and Vice President shall remain as currently implemented. Both offices are demanding and deserves all the perks afforded present and past occupants of both offices. No one person may collect remuneration for more than one office however.341 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Robert Wallace Dufur

Class Action Lawsuit: Against Republican Move to Vouchercare Instead of MedicareThe signors of this petition consist of people who have paid Medicare taxes faithfully throughout their working lives. We are waging a class-action lawsuit against the Romney/Ryan Republican-led plan to dismantle our Medicare terms and to create a "Vouchercare" system. Medicare taxes consist of the people's money. This is a contractual dispute between the undersignors and the members of the Republican party who propose to unilaterally change the terms of this contractual agreement without the people's consent.8 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Professor Nancy A. Fix School District SpendingSchools in our district have been laying off teachers every year, and cutting services for students steadily, from class size increase to eliminating important educational programs, and now furlough days for schools. Yet, they spend millions on purchasing new curriculum material and staff training associated with these new purchases. How is that justified?1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Karina Chahal

President Obama: Make Colorado's Parent CNA Program for the Children's HCBS Waiver a Federal Med...My son Miles has a rare disease called Menkes. He requires 24 hour a day nursing care and is covered by Medicaid due to his life limiting illness. We are fortunate enough to live in the state of Colorado where they have a program to help families like us. The state will reimburse health care providers who hire parents of children with life limiting illnesses and train them to become a Certified Nurses Assistant. My wife took the courses, passed the tests and is now employed by a health care provider to give care to my son so an outside nurse doesn't have to and my wife doesn't need to get another job. Some states see caring for your child in any form as "paternal duties" but I can tell you there is nothing paternal about G-Tubes, suction catheters and emergency seizure medication administering. My wife replacing a skilled Registered Nurse in our home saves the Medicaid system approximately $40,000 annually! It is not only cost efficient but the right thing to do for a family already dealing with such a tough circumstance. In my heart, I feel Miles has out lived expectations of his disease partially due to the paternal love he feels more than other children, in other states whose parents have to find jobs during such a tough situation and have a stranger come in to care for their child. Thank you for your time, Jonathan V. Taylor Denver, Colorado603 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Jonathan Taylor

Internal Revenue Service: revoke the tax-exempt status of the American Legislative Exchange Coun...This matter concerns the massive underreporting of lobbying by the American Legislative Exchange Council ("ALEC"). While ostensibly a nonprofit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, ALEC's primary purpose is to provide a vehicle for its corporate members to lobby state legislators and to deduct the costs of such efforts as charitable contributions. ALEC drafts "model" legislation provided by its corporate and legislative members, and lobbies for the adoption of that legislation. These goals are fundamentally inconsistent with ALEC's claimed tax-exempt status as a charitable organization under 26 U.S.C. ยง 501(c)(3), because (i) "no substantial part" of a charity's activity can be "attempting to influence legislation," and (ii) ALEC's activities do not qualify under any of the enumerated purposes of Section 501(c)(3).8 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Lonnie Weston
