• Change the Law for Careless Driving that Takes an Innocent Life!
On March 26th, 2012 my Daughter in Law who was 6 months pregnant was killed in an auto accident. The lady who caused this accident that devastated our family walked away with 2 Misdemeanors, 1 for Careless and Imprudent and the other crossing the center line. This lady should have faced Involuntary Manslaughter and lost her drivers license at the least. She received a fine and 48 hours in jail and Our family was left broken,a mother to suffer, a young husband losing his soulmate, her 3 year old daughter left without her mommy. This law needs to be reviewed so that people who are careless have to face up to their actions and hopefully learn from it so there will be a change and no other family will suffer the way we have.

  • North Carolinians demand labeling of GMO's
We all deserve to know what's in the food we eat. GMO testing has raised substantial evidence that consuming GMO's causes major health problems. We have the right to know what we're feeding our families.

  • NY Women's Uterus Repurchase Petition
I am an American woman with two daughters and a uterus which I have exercised private control over my entire life. As states erode women's right to choice, I call on my representatives and neighbors to buy back our sole and exclusive claims to the uterus for a symbolic penny. I no more abdicate my rights to self determination of this organ than to any part of myself.

  • All veterans should get "Veterans Day" off from work
My husband served 22 years in the National Guard and every year when "Veteran's Day" comes around he has to go to work because his work place does not observe this holiday, while I see friends and neighbors who never served a day in their life in the military get the day off. This seems to be an injustice to all of the men and women who have given so much of their time and their families that have given up much of their time with their (spouse, father, mother, etc..) while they served. I remember my children and I spending many holidays, birthdays, etc.. (without their father, my husband) while he was activated to take care of blizzards, floods, etc.. Only to not be allowed to enjoy Veteran's Day off from work that he so deserves and if he wants to get that day off he has to take a vacation day, which is not right! It's an insult! With your help maybe we can get this changed so that men & women who have served in any military be allowed to get the day off that they deserve. This is the least we can do to thank those who have given so much of their time, that have been there to help so many during disasters and emergencies and so that we can have and enjoy our freedom. Thank you!

  • Repeal Voter ID in Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania's Voter ID/Voter Suppression Law was put on hold by a temporary injunction granted by Commonwealth Court Judge Robert Simpson. This is only a temporary injunction, stopping its implementation for the 2012 election. Now we need to repeal this anti-democracy bill for 2013 and beyond. Send your message to Gov. Corbett and your state representative and senator urging repeal.

  • Stop predatory lending
I'm an associate pastor in a church in Missouri. I work with a faith-based coalition "Missouri Faith Voices." We are grieved at the outrageous payday lending practices in Missouri. Legally, a person can be charged 1995% interest for a payday loan. The average APR for payday loans in MO is 450%. We have tried to get our legislature to set new limits (36%) as Congress did for military personnel. They have ignored our requests. It's time to do something!

  • Climate Change: An Essential Topic of Presidential Debate!
Climate change is one of the most critical issues facing the United States, and the world. The Arctic sea ice melt is at record levels and most of our country experienced extreme weather this summer, yet our Presidential candidates are saying little to nothing about how they will address this issue. The time is now. Candy Crowley must ask the candidates tough questions about how they will fight climate change.

  • Fact Checking
Many politicians make public statements that have no basis in fact. Because many people believe that any public statements must be factual I feel that ALL public statements made during the course of political campaigns should be subject to fact checking, there should be immediate disclaimers made in the same media of statements that are not true.

  • Steve Harvey, Reconsider Trump Tower
Comedian, radio and television personality Steve Harvey, recently rented a $22,000 a month, 6,400 square-foot penthouse at Donald Trump's Trump International Hotel and Tower in Chicago to live while he tapes his NBC television show. Mr. Harvey has been known to be an ardent supporter of President Obama. It is inconceivable that he chose to live in a building associated with Donald Trump, one of the most obnoxious supporters of "the birther movement," Tea Party causes and Republicans determined to ensure the failure of President Obama.

  • AND JUSTICE FOR ALL
On Sunday, Sept. 30th, 2012 a Lt. in the Philadelphia Police Dept. assaulted an innocent women. They officer, whom had his back turned, assumed the women threw water on police. There's footage of the incident. you can clearly see it wasn't her. As of right now the officer is on desk duty which is absurd. I am personally affected because it took place at a cultural event where we as civilians are suppose to be able to enjoy and feel safe. This officer needs to be brought to justice with an appropriate punishment, not desk duty and pay.
