Are you outraged that Rep. Paul Ryan justified Mitt Romney paying a lower tax rate than middle-class Americans by saying he created jobs? Romney has done nothing but outsource jobs putting thousands of Americans out of work! He approves of distorting the truth by taking sound bites from President Obama's speeches as if the president was implying something different than what he really said and claims he pulls false ads!

I believe that with today's fractured parties it is time to require a candidate to get a majority of votes cast to win an election. There are too many cases where a spoiler candidate allows a candidate to win an election where they would have been second even a distant second if the spoiler candidate was not in the race.

Employers more and more are requiring credit checks on potential employees as a condition of hire. While reaslizing that certain josbs where the handling of company pay outs may be entiltled to run credit checks, the vast majority of companies are taking unnecessary adantage of those of us whose credit has been damaged by the housing crash and loss of employment.

Our son, Nick, passed away unexpectedly, two months before he was set to graduate, after five years of engineering school. His life was just beginning at 24 years of age. He was an honor roll student and employed as a writing center tutor, helping other students with their papers. He was selected to attend the Undergraduate Research Day at the Missouri Capitol to share his research on space trash with lawmakers. He worked very hard at everything he tried. Because Nick was considered out-of-state his first two years in college, tuition was very high and we had to take out additional cash loans thru MOHELA, Missouri Higher Education Loan Authority. These loans were taken out for the 2006-2007 school years and interest accumulates daily. We have contacted MOHELA repeatedly and escalated the matter, to see if these loans could be forgiven but they will not budge. Retired and on a fixed income, we should not have to worry about how we are going to repay such large sums of money. We recently read about other families that have been in this same situation through the online petition process and SignOn.org. Because light was shed on this issue, Citibank has changed their status and has agreed to forgive student debt, when the student has died. As of January 2011, CITI made a policy change where any death of a primary borrower would be forgiven upon receipt of the death certificate and review of the case. Could MOHELA do the right thing and change their policy? MOHELA should institute a policy change of student loan forgiveness when the student dies and stop going after family members. A politician shouldn't be allowed to switch parties or be an independent until the next election cycle when that person runs again so we know exactly what that person stands for. I don't want to support someone who goes with the trend to help themselves and not the people who supported that person.

Our U.S. military is beyond scrutiny regarding waste, kick-backs and lucrative government contracts. Furthermore the budget for our forces is greater than those of the world's leading countries––combined. Meanwhile Medicare and Social Security are threatened, even though the monies there belong to citizen who have invested in these programs to provide for their futures. Let conservatives know that we're onto them.

Our Federally elected representatives have provided themselves the best benefit package for themselves. They have NO accountability in regards to paying themselves more, or improving any of their benefits. Eliminate the Pension and go to a 401k.

Why is it that we can count each person's vote when voting for Senators and Representatives but not for the President? Yes, I know the Electoral College is part of the Constitution, but times have changed and so should parts of documents that become outdated. I would very much like to see a constitutional amendment, eliminating the Electoral College and declaring that the President be elected by popular vote. No more red and blue states. That's ridiculous and gives a few states too much say in the election.

Due to the collapse of the U.S. housing bubble in 2007 and the global financial crisis that followed in 2008, millions of Americans (including myself) have struggled to survive and are loosing patience with the recovery. This Great Recession will not really end and housing will not recover until well paying jobs with decent benefits are created again. A "National Renewable Energy Jobs Program" is the stimulus that our country needs. We must create local jobs in every region of America in the following ways: • Building or remodeling factories to make renewable energy systems such as wind turbines and solar panels. The rest of the world needs to make and use their own renewable energy systems so that our planet will become sustainable everywhere. • Building “Renewable Energy Farms” and completing a “Smart Grid” to utilize the energies in every region. As an example, the Midwest might use wind power and bio-fuels while the Southwest might use solar and geothermal power. • Funding with “Energy Security Bonds” that would allow U.S. corporations and wealthy individuals to reinvest their offshore accounts back into America. After converting our country into a "Renewable Energy Economy", all of the assets can be privatized and the bonds retired. From a business perspective this program will produce a great “Triple Bottom Line.” There will be excellent environmental benefits in significantly reduced pollution, huge economic benefits from increased revenues & vast social benefits from job creation. And last of all, provide us with the freedom to improve our lives and to help rebuild our country so that future generations will remember to never underestimate the capabilities of the United States of America.

2 billion dollars of OUR money is given to the BIG 5 oil companies every year. These companies are raking in record profits. That money woul dbe better spent by hiring teachers in math and science to improve scores in public schools.
