Our sentencing for drug and property crimes is out of control and strips away any meaningful rehabilitative chances from our fellow human beings who are afflicted with addiction issues. We are creating a society of people with records who can't find life sustaining employment, housing or success when they have served their time, further eroding our communnities.

Americans should have the right to know what's in their food. About 20 years ago, the FDA denied consumers the right to know whether their food was genetically altered or not. This regulation was introduced by Michael Taylor, a former Monsanto lawyer who transferred into the offices of the FDA. California now has Prop 37 on the ballot for November 6th, to pass GMO labeling. Our petition, which will go to The White House, will strengthen the message for nationwide change.

I believe it is unethical and inhumane to ship Vermont inmates out of Vermont where they will no longer even have the limited contact with their loved ones, children, spouses and support networks that they have access to n Vermont. My son is my only child and has been shipped to KY where I lack to funds to visit or even pay for phone calls. I have had cancer in the past two years and this is extremely difficult.

As many as 500 million trees across Texas died. And we're not out of the woods yet: 72% of Texas is still in drought and 11 reservoirs are still less than 10 percent full. Meanwhile, billions of gallons of water are withdrawn from our rivers every year only to be wasted, as drilling companies fail to recycle their wastewater, agribusinesses waste water in unlined ditches, and power companies forego modern technologies in favor of outdated methods. As these companies sap two-thirds of Texas' water, it's become all too clear: Individual action is not enough to solve our problems long-term. To get the job done, we need our lawmakers in Austin to crack down on our worst corporate water hogs.

This is a petition to bring art, music and gym programs back into the elementary level. If your school system has done away with these programs, it would be in the childrens' best interest if you sign this online petition.

But despite these very real and current conditions, some of Texas’ most powerful industries are still wasting billions of gallons of water—a precious resource that we—and our environment—depend upon. For example, using a new drilling technique known as "fracking", oil and gas companies used 25 billion gallons of water last year in Texas, the vast majority of which was contaminated and then injected deep underground, forever removed from the hydrologic cycle.

after an unscrupulous mortgage company loaned my 82 year old husband money we went through nearly losing our home. With tenacity we went through hoops and finally after about 2 years, the house was given to us; only to learn the house was now being foreclosed on by the county for back taxes. Taxes apparantly was not being paid while we were in dispute and house was relinquished to us with about $7,000 owing on overrated taxes.

With unlimited campaign funds, and networks willing to play for pay, the propogandists in our political system can say whatever they want. The only beneficiary of this doublespeak is the broadcast network. We are looking to the broadcast networks to show leadership and refuse political ads that ignore, fabricate or otherwise undermine verifiable facts or other public knowledge.

It takes my right away to vote secretly. It is costly for our government to set this in place for two reasons: costly and useless as it will not stop fraud. Pictures can be altered, addresses can be faked. Going into vote is a privilege and not to be determined who we are. Our deficit is high enough so now we want to make it worse.

Please stop blocking federal funds to cover poor, uninsured citizens through Obamacare.

As Tax Payers in the United States of America we are subjected to pay income taxes on our income. Middle Class Wage Earners have always carried the majority of the tax burden of our country and we share our payments to provide a better standard of living for all of the citizens of our beloved country, as such we feel it is only fair for all political candidates, including Mitt Romney to show their income tax returns to prove their dedication to the Values of Fairness and pride of participating in support of our shared values.
