• U.S. Citizens Debt Forgiveness Program
I and many of you are waking up everyday facing foreclosures, repossesions, bankruptcies, utilities being cut off and not being able to put food on the table. The government has bailed out corporate America time and time again. I believe that its time for the government to bail out all Americans that are struggling day to day. If the government would allow a one time debt forgiveness for all of us, based upon our current income the amount of debt that we have all accumulated we would could all sleep a lot better at night and not be afraid to answer the phone in fear of bill collectors.

  • Public transportation after bar time on weekends
Public transportation after bar time on weekends. Portland Oregon has a great night life. It is surprising hat such a modern city does not have public transportation after midnight. it just makes a lot of sense to have one last max( street train) or Bus on every line so that people can use. Even if its wrong people still drink and drive, that is a reality if people could simply take public transportation and not take the risk of causing or being in an accident or getting a DUI. plus not have to deal with parking would also be a good selling point for getting party people of the roads. One last run of public transportation will surely prevent accidents. Even if it was only one accident prevented it would be worth it.

  • LET'S GET REAL ABOUT THE DEBT
Let's start with challenging the two US presidential contenders to pledge 60% (or more) from their resective ad campaigns towards retiring THE DEBT. If this could be accomplished challenge every US household to commit $5 per month towards the same goal. I believe that once people are convinced that our leaders hold the country's interests above their own politrical aspirations and greed, our citizens will want to contribute. This is an update to JFK's challenge: Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what YOU can do for your country!

  • Stop the Fresno Trash Scam
Fresno's mayor and some city council members want to privatize--sell off--residential solid waste (our city trash service). They claim it will be good for the city and for ratepayers, but the truth is, rates will skyrocket and service will suffer. It's an ill-advised backdoor tax we can't afford.

  • Citizens United Decision and Corporations Declaration
There is a movement in the United States, to allow corporations the same rights as the citizens, without any of the responsibilities, and as such, any law, whether it be by our elected representatives, local, state or federal, or any judicial decision by an elected magistrate or one appointed by any of our elected representatives. This must stop and be reversed, as corporations are only allowed to exist by the grace of WE THE PEOPLE. This is a declaration stating that the people do not recognize any law or judicial decision favoring corporations over the people and demanding that any law or judicial decisions to that effect are considered null and void and that we demand of our governing bodies and elected officials to repeal and strike down any such laws and judicial decisions immediately.

  • New Rules for Presidential Debate
We currently have presidential debates that encourage skirting issues, lying, distortion, and exaggeration. I would watch a debate in which none of this were possible or at the very least, identified as such. Let's propose a debate format that (1) gives moderators (one Dem, one Repub) the power to interrupt responses that don't answer the question; and (2) has a balanced panel of fact checkers (with computers) who can buzz in loudly when they hear a lie (with perhaps a softer buzzer for exaggeration/distortion). Such a debate would be informative and entertaining, a win-win for both the network and the public. I think everybody in the country would tune in!

  • End Euthanasia!
I'm tired of my city being one of the highest killing shelters in the nation. They kill so many animals per month that even animals who have officially been adopted have been killed by mistake. They even prematurely kill animals whose time haven't expire. This nation, even city, has a chance to reverse this awful practice. Why kill healthy animals? Doesn't every living creature deserve life?
