Gun control, too many innocent people are killed behind loose canons. Stricter gun laws and control making it almost impossible to register to own a gun.

Once again we are hearing about a LONE gunmen killing innocent people. This time it's a theatre in Colorado. The problem is not just this individual and itis not the film, the theatre or the movie-goers. The problem is that we continue to sell guns to unstable individuals who are usually described as loners with no friends. My proposal is that we require every prospective gun buyer to have a cosigner. The cosigner would have to show proper ID and, with their signature, state that they 1) are not a relative, 2) have known the gun-buyer at least one year, 3) trust the gun-buyer to be a rational individual free of any psychological problems, and 4) share the responsibility equally with the gun-buyer for any criminal activity perpetrated with this weapon. History shows that lone gunman are not upstanding citizens and members in good standing of their local gun club. For that reason, I belive this law would not be oppossed by organizations like the NRA. In fact, I would expect the NRA to endorse this petition because it would help keep guns out of the hands of psychotic individuals that give gun-owners a bad name.

During the month of May, Arlington Animal Services euthanized almost 500 cats. We don't know how many of them were feral, because the records don't tell us that, but what we do know is that any feral cat that comes to AAS is euthanized almost immediately, since they are not adoptable. Using a low end estimate for what it costs a municipality to trap and kill an animal, Arlington likely spent $30,000 in May alone to kill cats. There are approximately 60,000 feral/stray cats in Arlington. Trap-and-kill methods cannot possibly keep up with the birth rate in that large a cat population. TNR is the only humane and fiscally responsible way to deal with this problem.

Everyone awoke to the horror of the tragic news that a gunman opened fire at the screening of the new Batman movie in Aurora, CO that killed at least 12 innocent people and wounded many more. As our hearts and prayers go out to the victims and their families, we must realize that Cinemark Theaters and the city council of Aurora, Colorado has a municipal ordinance which makes it illegal for citizens that have Concealed Carry Permits (CCW/CCP) to carry into a premises that has posted "no guns" signs. In other words, the city gave private signage the force of law. Cinemark theaters has had a no guns policy for some time, and has asked law-abiding citizens to leave for exercising their Constitutional right to legal armed self-defense. Please join us in signing this petition to have the Mayor of Aurora and Cinemark Theaters hear our voice to allow citizens to legally carry and help secure public safety.

My daughter works at an Theather out of fear it seem like we are not safe to go out for entertainment and watch a movie, please this makes no sense at all, the movie theather should be a safe heaven for our children to relax, laugh and eat pop corn. We are living in our last days I am telling you the truth, stop the violence. improve the gun laws from this kinds of crimes when will it stop. it must stop today.

Gun control.

The most recent "tragedy" is not a tragedy at all. It is not even a rare event. All of the politicians in the pocket of the NRA refuse to take a stand against the insanity of allowing assault weapons to be legally sold and to allow "concealed carry" weapons all around us.

The United States citizens of Puerto Rico have been disenfranchised as voters and this is incompatible with American representative democracy.

As we have witnessed yet another tragic act of violence, we need to renew our resolve to strengthen the moral fabric our nation. Violence can only cease when all human beings love, cherish, and respect human life. Not only must we teach children to love, cherish, and respect human life in our homes and in our places of worship, but also in our schools.

7/20 - Today marks 68 days of Captain Paul Watson’s detainment in Germany on an outrageous, alleged charge of “a violation of ship traffic". Captain Watson has dedicated his life to saving whales and all living things in the oceans. This is another attempt to stop him from harassing those that hunt in the oceans. It is time to use the power of the USA to free him.
