My petition is about parents and students standing on street conors collecting money for activities at schools this is to dangerous.

Studies show that death increases exponentially with speeding. I would like to make it child endangerment to speed in excess of 10 mph over the posted limit with children in the vehicle and protect our most fragile cargo, children.

There already is the guideline of two dental cleanings per year, but as with Deregulation, there is no significant fines or enforcement! Shame on you USA !! Petition all levels of Government that Life of the weak poor injured senile Elderly is just as important as the Life of a newborn baby or teenager or college student or American soldier. Elderly patients in hospitals and warehousing resthomes need our help with laws and fines for DAILY TEETHBRUSHING-FLOSSING and Enforced minimum standard of three dental cleanings per year. Have you ever visited an elderly friend in a hospital or resthome and noticed the terrible buildup of gunk and stains on their teeth !? Shocking ! I know parent who brush and floss their kids teeth every night , yet America is ok with neglecting and not respecting the elderly and their health. Shame on you USA !!

Every day I am inundated by this dangerous, hate filled speech which I believe encourages violence. I am a big proponent of free speech, but some times enough is enough and I do not want this hate mongering going out into the world over we the peoples public airwaves. This speech has no public benefit.

Corruption within the Maine Department of Public Safety. When my son was discovered deceased, his unattended death was terribly mishandled. Even though he had obvious injuries to his face and forehead, the responding officers - instead of calling in a coroner - elected to label his death an alcohol or drug overdose! They did not photograph his face.Instead, they repositioned his rigored body from lying face up across a bed with his feet on the floor, to kneeling on the floor with his face pressed down on the bed to disguise the large bruise as levidity. If not for a conversation with the funeral home transport driver, I would never have known that this took place. After the medical examiner confirmed that my son had multiple injuries to his face and body - which should have been regarded as suspicious by police - I demanded an explanation. I soon found that no one in the entire Department wanted to address it at all. Even though evidence of foul play has surfaced and individuals have gone to police with information, the case remains smothered. This whole thing leaves me to wonder how often these things take place. How many other families are out there who have suffered the same injustices? Why do the state police have such unlimited discretion that they can do whatever they choose with no fear of repraisal? Who can Maine citizens trust?

In the wake of the Aurora shootings, any politician who has received campaign donations from pro-gun groups should immediately return them. Or if they choose not to do so they should explain why they feel it is imperative to keep their donation.

After the shootings in Tucson, AZ in 2011 and Aurora, CO on July 20, 2012, we need to stand up to the NRA and pass the Fix Gun Checks Act, along with other legislation, to ensure that massacres like this do not happen in our country again.

When wealthy persons pay their taxes, they often have multiple deductions amounting to hundreds of thousands of dollars and saving them from paying taxes. Lower income persons who have few deductions often end up paying a higher percentage of their meager incomes than the very wealthy, (regressive taxation). Lets make it even: No taxes at all on the first $22,000 of income for everyone, and then no other deductions allowed. Period. In one stroke the little guy gets a chance to save without having extra dollars taxed away, and the wealthy get equal treatment before the law.

Our couintry has trusted the financial indrustry to be good stewards with the infrastructure of "how" our commerce is administered. However, it has been an oversight of all of our regulating agencies that those same financial leaders are ruining the lives of many. Most people cannot find safe options to save for retirement or college. All banking institutions do not provide adequate returns, even though their profits are greater than any other time in history. Since we cannot force banks to increase their paultry APR, our government needs to recognize that Americans deserve to save for themselves without the banks control. Why can't we have a chance to control our own lives? SS is being depleted everyday. Stocks are over valued and reeks of ponzinysm. Banks are surely playing hardball - look at the profit margins. It is even illegal to have a bonus or profit sharing options while being regulated as a federal institution. Who are supposed to enforcement these laws? If we can establish an option for people who simply can't afford to play games with their money, that would help fix the economy, probably faster than any tax break. Say 5-6 % APR. Let us SAVE OURSELVES.
