• Congress: Extend the Pell Grant Limit
With the recent decrease in the amount of semesters that a student can receive the Pell Grant it is getting harder for students to obtain the college degrees that are becoming necessary in today's society. There are many programs, especially in the STEM fields, that require specific course sequences that are becoming more difficult to finish in the normal time frame due to increasing standards. In order to ensure that students can achieve their goals without going into serious debt we need to restore Pell Grant eligibility to a term of 18 semesters.

  • Political advertising.
Advertising cannot intentionally mislead voters by piecing together sound bites that make it sound like someone said something or meant something they didn't. It's misleading and unethical.

  • Relief for Low Wage Workers
Cost of living raises for low-wage workers and two weeks vacation time every year effective at date of hire. Ten paid sick days per year It is very difficult to keep up with the cost of living when you don't make a living wage in the first place. Also, too many places of employment make you wait at least one year before being eligible for any vacation time whatsoever. I have not had a private sector job that has offered paid sick days since 1993. These days if you are too sick to go to work, your pay gets docked making it even more difficult to pay the bills.

  • Hold bank CEOs accountable
My son and his wife were unable to have their bank (PNC) lower their interest rate, but instead their monthly payment were raised. The scandal at Barclay's in London which involves American banks affected all of our interest rates since 2005 - perhaps even earlier. When is the Congress going to hold the top officers of banks legally responsible, instead of treating them deferentially, as they recently did when Robert Diamond testified.

  • SUPPORT YOUR COUNTY SHERIFF
The law assigns ALL POWER & AUTHORITY (over and above the Governor & President) to your county Sheriff, who is your elected official. The Sheriff has the POWER & AUTHORITY to prevent entry & rejection of all Federal agents operating in any capacity. Citizens need to know the Feds or their representitives can not enter your county to commit illegal acts. Sheriffs MUST inform the state & federal governents of this. See WY.

  • Politicians must unite for the good of the country
If we are to move this economy and country forward politicians must start working together to improve conditions. Stop standing at extreme ends of the spectrum and hurling barbs at one another and compromise for the good of the country.
