  • Tell President Obama to Make Trade Fair
I have worked at the Trane Company plant in La Crosse, Wisconsin for over 12 years. I take great pride in the work I do…when I have it. You see, outsourcing of good jobs at the plant has become an all-too-common occurrence. Three production lines at the factory have been shipped overseas to China and Mexico in the last five years and I have been temporarily laid off more times than I can count. Hundreds of good jobs in La Crosse are now gone and many of my co-workers have been forced to leave La Crosse in search of other work. It’s hurt local businesses and taken away badly-needed revenue from our schools, hospitals and libraries. And I know we aren’t alone. Millions of jobs have been offshored because of lopsided trade deals that have put the interests of corporations over the interests of working families. That’s why it is so important we get the next trade deals right and we have a chance right now. U.S. trade representatives are currently negotiating the Trans-Pacific Partnership Free Trade Agreement (TPP FTA), which will be the biggest trade agreement in U.S. history. To ensure this trade agreement works for working families and creates and protects jobs in the United States, I'm helping gather signatures for an emergency petition delivery from working families on July 9 in San Diego during the next round of the TPP FTA negotiations. Please sign my petition now to urge President Obama and U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk to negotiate a trade policy that creates good jobs in the United States, ensures all levels of government can Buy American, protects workers’ rights and stops foreign corporations from skirting U.S. laws to help their bottom line.

  • Revoke D.O.Energy contractors Legal fees
My peteition is about The fact that D.O.E. hires contractors to manage their D.O.E. National Labs. Those private Corporation are supported and totally funded by the Government, which is collected as a tax from the American people. For their legal fees ,expenses and settlements when they commit a criminal violation, or civil rights violation against their employees and private contracters.any employee who files a E.E.O.C. vilolation complaint is subjected to the response of a fully funded and the power of the best legal law firm, paid for by the American people and the very employees that are the complaintant or whistleblower. This special fully funded Legal fee reimbursement, not only costs the American people over 30 million dollars a year(estimated costs),it encourages and promotes the contracters ability to violate the civil rights of its employee regarding sexual harrassment, racial bias, discrimination for race and age related offenses. Without the expense of financial expense (which is an deterrant) of all violation and many more, they find it a situation that it pays for them to committ these crimes as a business blueprint. I ask that any Contractor that manages any D.O.Energy be 100% responsible for their own civil rights vilolations crimes, expenses and its legal fees and settlement. The employee must pay their houseold money, that they cannot afford , to fight for their civil rights. Againt a company the work for and pay for in taxes. 30 million dollars of our taxes. This is abusive and a violation of te Federal laws.

  • Sign Petition To Make Saginaw Police Find Alternatives To Deadly Force
On Sunday July 1, 2012, Saginaw Police were dispatched to the Riverview Plaza where they encountered a mentally challenged man who had a small knife in his possession. Witnesses say officers demanded that he drop the knife or they would release the K-9s. Witnesses say instead of releasing the dogs, officers opened fire -- striking the man numerous times -- killing him. Officers claim the man rushed in at them. Many in the community believe the mentally ill victim could have easily been brought down by use of taser or K-9s, and that law enforcement used excessive force. Also, there were many children and families shopping in the plaza during this time. We are calling for our officials to do the right thing and change how officers deal with individuals who have non-firearm type weapons.

  • Ask AZ Gov. Brewer to Implement the Affordable Care Act
This petition is about saving lives in Arizona. It is about finally having the ability to obtain insurance if you have a pre-existing condition. It is about patients and doctors, rather than the insurance companies, making decisions that affect their health. It is about staying on your parents' policy until you reach age 26, It is about the ability to afford healthcare for those who have had no choice in the past.

  • Abolish Public Sponsored Health Insurance for Congressional Lawmakers
I, like many working class Americans, have struggled for decades to maintain affordable health insurance. We have a "catastrophic" plan known in the industry as a "high deductible plan" We realize if we have to use the plan we'll have to borrow against our home or sell off some property.

  • Nebraskans want Affordable Care Act Now!
On June 28, 2012, Governor Dave Heineman promised to block any effort to expand Nebraska's Medicaid program under the Affordable Care Act. He said they need to "study this." The truth is the Medicaid expansion in the Affordable Care Act is FULLY funded for the first three budget years! Most of the costs don't even kick in until 2020, and the federal government will cover 90% of the cost then and beyond. Why should Nebraskans continue to suffer without help from a doctor while Gov. Heineman drags his feet? We need to tell him to implement the expansion NOW, and he can study it later... when it is no cost to the state.
