    The expansion of Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act will cost Alaska nothing in the first 3 years, after which we will only cover 10% of the cost. Alaskans have huge medical expenses due to our geography. Our state needs additional protections--and expanded coverage is just the tip of the iceberg--but we have got to start somewhere. Please stand with your fellow Alaskans and demand your governor work for the people and not for his party.

  • Bobby Jindal - Give us the healthcare we deserve, implement Obamacare
    Governor Jindal says he will refuse to set up healthcare exchanges in Louisiana. Louisiana had one of the highest rates of uninsured adults in the country because affordable healthcare is not available. People between the ages of 55 and 65, who have lost their jobs are were forced to retire early have no option due to ridiculous rates and the fact that Louisiana insurers either deny coverage because of pre-existing conditons or raise the rates beyond the reach of people on a limited budget.

    Government backed college loans of 8%? That's right. The recent congressional action to lower interest rates only applied to undergraduate Stafford Loans. Middle class graduate students are leaving college as virtual indentured servants facing the prospects of paying for college over most of their adult lives. These are government loans, and without them the middle class cannot fulfill their dreams to enter the workplace as physical therapists, lawyers, and doctors.

  • AWARD FOR SKI MASK RAPIST
    I know some one who orginially turned in this Brooks man for the bank robberies in the 80's and received a reward. She still has the check stub to prove it. Because of her efforts to be a good citizen and report what she knew he was captured and his DNA went in the system. When this cold case was re-opened on the Ski Mask Rapist they ran DNA's and found a match(HIS). With out a doubt if she hadn't of been a good citizen and stepped forward they would of never had his DNA and this case would still be un solved. I feel we should back her in YES she should receive the reward that was orginally offered in this case.

    Politicians are so beholden to their parties, their super PAC, their special interest groups and getting elected that our voices get lost. I think we should ask everyone of them to pledge an oath to the citizens. One that reminds them what they are really there for. They should be asked to renounce pledges to Grover Norquist or any other person or group that is put before us the people.
