Money from big business buys all our elected officials. Let's stop that with campaign finance reform now. No more big money buying votes. No more professional lobbying in Washington.

Our current Tax Code has thousands of pages and millions of words; it is incomprehensible, even by the experts and the IRS themselves. It is unfair, obscure, and subject to endless manipulation for purely political reasons. This is clearly a non-partisan issue negatively impacting all Americans. We must replace it with a tax system that is simple, honest, transparent, and fair.

The Governor of NY has proposed and the NY State Senate has passed legislation to start a new government agency called the Justice Center to investigate and prosecute all allegations of abuse to individuals with disabilities by their workers. This legislation does not include enough measures to fix a broken system that contributes to the abuse or provide any measures to support and educate good workers to keep them in the field and prevent them from becoming abusive. this petetion is to urge NY State Government to include measures to prevent abuse in this legislation.

In PA, we have thousands of people on waiting lists for needed human services to help them survive and live in the community. Why not come up with a new model for services that uses timebanks and people who have been trained by DPW to provide services. There is a model in existance in Rhode Island that does this now. It is a great help to the community.

Direct TV, CenturyLink and other BIG CORPORTATIONS claim they are people but don't act like friends when a parent dies or is placed in Senior care - why do they charge early disconnection fees of $2000 when your elder person is placed in Senior care; exceptions for PEOPLE!

If this country is the true democracy it claims to be. Every effort should be made to insure every citizen has the opportunity to vote. We go all over the world advocating this right, yet certain factions in this country are trying to suppress the vote in this country. Can you imagine the outcry in this country if other countries invoked some of the measures in being imposed by certain states in this country, some who have a long history of voter suppression.

Under the constitution the Congress is responsible for the nation's monetary system. The last major change was in Dec, 1913, almost 100 years ago. Executive action has removed gold and silver backing, starting the era of fiat money. Fundamental changes are needed in the monetary system to accommodate this era of fiat money. Specifically, fiat money should not be printed by the federal government then given to privately owned, for profit organizations to distribute into the economy.

I have been a working American for almost my whole life. And today, I'm still repaying a loan from 1981. The more I pay the more in debt I become. Commercial drivers in the state of California are unable to attend traffic school on a moving violation when the incident occurs in their personal vehicle. The problem with this is it's just unfair not being able to redeem oneself of a violation in your personal vehicle like everyone else. Not being able to attend traffic school on a violation that happens while driving a personal vehicle affects insurrance rates, and could affect ones job further hendering the economy. Yes, a commercial driver should be held to a higher standard while driving a commercial vehicle; however, driving your personal vehicle a person holding a commercial license should be treated in the same manner as others in their personal vehicle. Another form of discrimination?
