Education funding is being strangled, programs cut and teachers fired, while OK Legislators are pushing the elimination of ALL Personal Income Tax (the major source of revenue in Oklahoma). This does not make responsible fiscal sense, as this will affect Oklahomas ability to bond and finance ALL projects.

Unfair hiring practice due to credit scores must be stopped immediately so that Americans can get back to work. This practice does not benefit the creditor, the company nor does it benefit our country. Unemployment will continue to rise as this common practice has a domino effect, no employment, no taxes paid, no creditor being paid, no rent or mortgage being paid, homelessness= poverty. Poverty= public assistance, public assistance= tax dollars, tax dollars= bugdet deficits all across the board. Hey stupid get a clue!!!!

In our country the national media would have you believe that all of us either believe in lowering taxes to solve our national problems or increasing spending on social programs. I believe there are many of us who have a more mature understanding of finances and our national political reality.

This petition rejects the premise that every petition that is divisive and/or combative and relies on false accusations and distortion of fact has merit simply because it is making noise. The only petitions of merit are those based on fact and not propagandistic slurs against any isolated constituency.

The the misuse of the Filibuster is allowing an obnoxious and unprincipled minority to hijack our democracy. The effects of this are causing great loss and unnecessary suffering to a large number of people. New rules need to be established to get our Democracy working again as the Founding Fathers intended.

The recent Amendment to the N.C. Constitution was presented by the sponsrs as a "definition of marriage only". In reality, this Amendment is an attempt by the republican Party to disband any union except the marriage of a man and woman! The AFL-CIO Union, International Brotherhood of Eletrical Workers Union, Teamsters Union, and dozens of other "unions" are now illegal in N.C. and may face prosecution! This may even extend to the Alliance credit union, Corning Credit union, State Employees Credit Union, and of course this applies to the 75 year old man and woman who have been living together for 20 years w/o paying the state for a piece of paper stating their love for each other is legal!

Reports say that Governor Christie and Senate President Stephen Sweeney have struck a backroom deal on taxes that could blow a billion dollar hole in the budget and ask absolutely nothing of the state's wealthiest residents. Passing a tax cut without a way to pay for it will lead to the same sort of job-killing cuts to transit, education, and other essential services that have weakened New Jersey's recovery. We call upon House Speaker Michael Madigan, Minority Leader Tom Cross, Governor Pat Quinn, and Governor Quinn’s Pension Reform Committee: Senator Noland, Senator Brady, Representative Nekritz, and Representative Senger to hold more public forums to debate the pension issue before ramming damaging legislation through the Illinois General Assembly. Whereas the State of Illinois has failed to fund pension obligations for 40 years for teachers and public employees who are not eligible for Social Security, we also call on the above mentioned leaders to uphold the Illinois Constitution and seek fair and viable pension funding solutions.

Irresponsible and unethical speculation is bankrupting America. Wall Street and hedge fund traders claim to be creating wealth, but in fact are creating nothing. Every dollar they put in their pockets is a dollar that should have gone to the people who created the actual products and services. The cumulative effect is bankrupting every aspect of our economy.

College students around the country who have federal student loans will be forced to pay double the current interest rates on July 1st. Math wise, a $1000 loan will incur $816 in interest every year, and considering many of these loans are more that $1000, this could really add up over the years. Congress has an opportunity not to raise our interest rates and those of others. In this economy, someone's interest rates and taxes will be increased, but I believe it should be those of people in Congress, who already have a job instead of students like me, who are not guaranteed a job after graduating.
