Churches are tax exempt as long as they remain politically neutral. That's not happening. Opposition to gay rights, a woman's right to choose, religious plurality; scientific findings relevant to evolution, global warming, and human experience come primarily from churches and religious organizations. As long as they make money teaching and preaching these doctrines, they should be subject to federal and state taxation.

We need to ban Hydo Fracking our land for gasoline using known carcinogens that pollute not just our great lakes, but also drain and poison our many inland lakes. Hydo fracking has already proven in other states to cause serious damage to drinking water, human health, livestock and wildlife, freshwater aquifers, rivers, and air quality.

Gov. John Hickenlooper should call a special session to allow an up or down vote on the Colorado Civil Union Act that Republican House Speaker Frank McNulty refused to allow to come to the floor of the Colorado House of Representatives this session.

Workers at the American Red Cross located in both Michigan and Ohio are being forced to strike over rising concerns about understaffing and cuts in health care benefits, despite $2 billion in revenue from blood donations. Long shifts with short staff and high pressure resulted in over $30 million in FDA fines in recent years. Without a voice at the table, issues regarding blood safety will only get worse. We are calling on Gail McGovern, Executive Director of the American Red Cross, who gets paid over $1 million per year, to stop the agenda to cut the employees out of the collective bargaining process.

Republican state legislatures have enacted legislation, which Republican governors have signed into law, that will make voting more difficult for many citizens. The laws are directed against seniors, the disabled, students, immigrants and the poor.

Action is needed to protect American families from toxic chemicals. Early puberty, childhood cancer, infertility, and learning and developmental disabilities are rising at alarming rates. Studies show links between toxic chemicals we’re exposed to every day and many of these negative health trends. Almost all pregnant women in America contain toxic chemicals in their bodies. The laws on the books do not protect the health of our kids and families. This is unacceptable. Tell Congress to Act Now.

I would like for Credit Card Companies (banks etc.) to not be able to ruin a person credit rating just because. I have always paid my credit card payments on time, always tried to pay more than the minimum but at the very least I have paid the minimum. Recently I paid, or thought I was paying 2/3 of my balance so I could increase my credit score. Instead I had my credit limit reduced thus my score is still lower than I would like it to be. Due to unprecedented expenses (divorce, legal fees etc.) my credit card balances were high.

Nearly all of our representatives in local, state and the United States government are elected by direct popular vote except for the President (and Vice President) of the United States. Although voters in every state cast a vote for the U.S. President they are actually, in effect, voting for a slate of electors who in turn vote in the Electoral College for the person who will be President. There have been times in the past when a person who won the popular vote did not become President. We need to end the Electoral College and choose our President by direct popular vote.

My petition is about Red Light Violations in the State of Illinois. The reason why people should care about this are many. However, the main point of reason to care is because the RLV is oppressive. RLV does not help control traffic accidents as much as they take money from empty pockets and most of the time unfairly. The city of Chicago yellow light caution is suppose to be set at 3 seconds long when they are really 2.89 seconds in most areas. Most places have no warning that they are there so that the driver knows to wait for the red light to end. Most are placed in low income areas. And, we are not really sure how that money is being used for the benefit of all. They are truly unfair.

Im tired of seeing that people are getting hurt because the person next to them was not paying attention on the road, people hold up traffic and hurt other people because they want to talk and drive or text.

This petition is about recognizing the rights of adult people to love and marry whomever they chose.

We women don't want the men left out of the silliness and absurdity and intrusion that the women are being hit with, and dragged kicking and screaming into this mire. The Laws are: all male babies should have prostrate exams as soon as they are born. All males, asked for or not, should have circumcisions as soon as they hit puberty, to make their lives better. And, all males must have colonoscopies, more prostrate exams, and a note from their mothers to get prescriptions for Viagra.
