End age discrimination in hiring! We need to put teeth into laws prohibiting age discrimination in hiring to ensure that qualified job-seekers over the age of 50 are not discriminated against by potential employers. Employers frequently turn down older applicants due to many erroneous notions; among them, that older workers on the payroll increase insurance premiums. An older applicant's qualifications, experience and work ethic appear to take a back seat to the employer's bottom line. Let's make sure that qualified seniors have an equal chance in the workplace!22 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Georgene Bernatz

Congressional Reform Act of 20121. Term Limits. A.One Six-year Senate term B. 3 Two-year House terms 2. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office. 3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do. 4. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people. 5. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/12. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term, then go home and back to work.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Edie Walker

Got Insurance? Who needs Insurance Companies? How can we (the common we and the political we), not see that the real problem in our society and economy is the power of the insurance companies dictating to everyone, (the government, the business owner, the individual, the doctors, the hospitals) and escalating the cost of care. If we took every premium paid to insurance companies over our lifetime, we would have enough money to cover everyone to be able to have a yearly physical for prevention and cut costs. There is no indication the insurance companies want to participate in making healthcare affordable to the common citizen; No standardization of forms (to decrease the time spent reading them), no available information of what is covered, refusals, lost paperwork, etc., etc., etc., increasing costs for billing and those providing care. THIS HAS TO STOP. We need to root the parasitic insurance companies out of the core of health care and our government and our lives. End the lobbist culture and save America.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jan Franck

Runoff Election to Make New Partys PossibleRalph Nader got Bush Elected by taking votes from the Democrats. A runoff election would have changed the result by running only the top two candidates. With a runoff we could have a real election where ideas for change at least get a hearing.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Thomas Blakeslee

why not a mandate for insuranceWe have to have car, home insurance we have to buy a driver license and plates and pay for birith records fishing hunting marrage license. We have to pay public school fees ( art supplies book and paper supplies lunch etc). How can all these and many other government laws and mandates be constitutional? If you want to stop the new health insurance law then all of the above should be free or not required.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Rob Allen

New StartThis petition is made to help people with somewhat of childhood criminal past become police officers. Furthermore, an arrest is one thing and conviction is another. It's very sad that government agencies are disqualify great applicants from employment based on an arrest ( not a conviction). Most of the police departments state that a conviction of a felony, domestic violence, larceny will disqualify you. However, I have learned that being arrested for something even if the case was dropped will disqualify you also even if the department does not list it. It does not matter how old you were when the arrest took place you will be disqualified from becoming a police officer. People like me need your help to change this so that way good applicants who made a changed in life can have a second chance at life. Why should life stop for those who really want to be in Law Enforcement who put forth the effort to give back to the community. Let's help bring a change to the way applicants are picked if you do meet all the qualifications.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Mike Bush
