Stealing taxpayer $ to fund campaignsCurrently a company owing past taxes can contribute to a camapign, recieve a reduced past tax settelment and profit from enacted legislation. This double dipping uses tax payer dollars to fund campaigns and should be illegal. If I owe 1Mil$, settle at $300,000, donate $200,000 and make profit on proposed legislation. This is how tax payers unwittingly fund campaigns and should be illegal.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Steven W. Smith

Simplify The Path to Legal ImmigrationAfter 23 years in the United States, after paying taxes, after filing petition after petition for permanent resident status and visa, this individual must return to her birth country because the legal process failed to work. Much discussion is being held to create a pathway for those who are here illegally. What about those who have exhausted all legal attempts to achieve permanent resident status? Other industrialized countries have a more steamlined, straight forward path to residency. Why not the United States.7 of 100 SignaturesCreated by D. E. Langdon

Increase the $2.13 hr tip wagesThe $ 2.13 wage for tip employees is long over due to be changed. This wage was put in effect around 1991. As you can see the cost of living has increased as well as the minimum wage, currently at $ 7.25 hr. Tip employees need to have a increase to reflect the cost of living. Were asking people all over to help change a horrible situation. How would you like to work for a wage that is over 20 years old? Thanks for helping2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Frederick Jones

National Cab Company in San Francisco needs to take steps to end discriminationPlease sign the petition to raise awareness and hopefully to create action to add additional protections to taxi drivers in San Francisco. I was harassed, assaulted, and had property damage done to my vehicle as a result of a dispatcher outing me to other cab drivers at National Cab Company in San Francisco. I brought it to the attention of President Dan Hinds at National Cab Company and was told that I am "the problem."37 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Dean Clark

Glass instead of plasticRid America of Plastic containers. I burn papers in a barrel. Plastic smells, I don't burn it. I have MS so can't work, can't afford anything extra. Garbage is an unnecessary expense, I live in a rural area of New York state, there is a small swamp behind my home were I dispose of unused food. Bones. Feeds the fish and wildlife. Plastic is made with Oil. Glass is RECYCLABLE and is a perfect product for containers. Let wake up and look at the whole pictures.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by David B Africa

David s lawChildren with Cystic Fibrosis are required to take supplemental pancreatic enzymes before meals. These enzymes allow the student to digest food properly. Currently, the law states, each student must go to the nurse’s office, each day. The nurse than administers the medication to the student. This is a time consuming process, which takes forces the student to leave class early or miss part of the lunch hour. This inhibits the student’s ability to either learn or have adequate time to finish lunch. This is also becoming problematic, due to budget cuts in the schools. Some schools are eliminating full-time nurses, which would make it impossible for students to take their medication each day. Some schools have passed laws that allow students to carry medication such as over over-the-counter pain relief medications. The main impetus for the current restrictions is to insure the safety of the students by keeping controlled substances (such as prescription medications) out of the hallways and classrooms of the school. However, the danger of someone taking un-prescribed pancreatic enzymes is negligible. We believe students who have Cystic Fibrosis and require pancreatic enzymes before meals, with a Doctor’s note, should be able to carry and administer their own medication. If the student demonstrates understanding and compliance with the prescribed dosage, before the school nurse, the student should be free to carry and administer the medication. If you agree, please sign this petition and contact your lawmakers both state and federal, so David’s Law will become law as soon as possible. If you have any questions or want to help the cause, please contact David Wagner’s Cystic Fibrosis Hotline at 612-282-12112 of 100 SignaturesCreated by David Wagner

congress needs to stop getting their marching orders from ALECWe, the people are offended that our elected officials, both Democats and Republicans participate in "get togethers" with ALEC and their supporting corporations to receive "directives" for legislation in Congress. Our elected representatives should be writing their own legislation. And it should be for the betterment of their voters, not their corporate benefactors.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Deborah Lamb

International Human Rights OversightThe United States has systematically avoided falling under the jurisdiction of international courts, including the International Criminal Court and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights within the Organization of American States. In essence, the United States has avoided international oversight with respect to human rights, yet claims to be an international defender of these same rights. Isn't it about time for the United States to become a citizen of the world?2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Robin Webster

Restore Fairness and Equity to Unemployment InsuranceOne of the biggest problems in Washington State is that people have trouble navigating the unemployment insurance bureaucracy, in order to get to the compensation they desperately need in order to pay for work search expenses. People should have a right to the money that they've paid out of their paychecks to pay for state unemployment insurance compensation, regardless of what might transpire on the job. Its only fair that one should expect the services one pays for. It should not be the states position to have to pass judgement on an individual's work performance, and pit the employee against the employer in cases of termination. As it currently stands, the government is forced to judge against the individual and make determinations that affect the individual's right to work. Lets help restore compassion to the system, and save hundreds of thousands of people from homelessness, by making sure that the unemployment insurance system is used only for the purposes of paying unemployment insurance, and not for judging individuals according to potentially biased employers' opinions of their work performance, social stereotypes, or other reasons that have nothing to do with the need to find a job. Retraining people doesn't pay people money, but a paying job does. If one wants to retrain, one should apply for government grants and loans, not apply for unemployment insurance. Help petition to change this law so that its fair and equitable and give us all the rights to the money that we've paid into the system to use to look for work; when we need it the most.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Lucas V. Government educational equalitySenators and congressonal members have gutted school finance over the past decades all the while allowing their own children to attend private schools. This petition seeks to requires senators and congressional members to send their own children to public schools. By doing this we are tying the success of the public school system to the success of the peoples children who make make the funding choices. By doing this we are taking the inequality out of the system that leaves scores of the less fortunate even more disenfranchised.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by John Briggs
