• End the War on Drugs
End the failed trillion dollar War on Drugs. Before the War on drugs there were few drug problems. The WOD has had only negative results and at costs we cannot afford. Drug addiction is a medical problem and should be treated as such. Police actions only increase the price of drugs to the benefit of the drug cartels.

  • SAVE THE POST OFFICE
The radical right wing of the GOP in Congress is working to privatize the mail system; they are refusing to fund the US Post Office. If you like paying higher prices to send mail through FED EX and US POSTAL SERVICE, do nothing about the disappearance of an efficient, relatively inexpensive way to send and receive mail.

  • No Health Insurance or Pensions for Congress
Until Congress enacts legislation to guarantee health benefits for every American they should not have coverage. The pensions that they receive should be rescinded. They should be covered by Social Security and contribute to their own 401K plans like everyone else. They are representatives of the people and not a special class with special benefits. You can be sure that if they were subject to the same coverage as the "people," the coverage would be excellent!

  • Congress: Improve our kids education.
We know for sure reducing classroom size increases results. Let's demand our lawmakers introduce a law that the government fully funds every public school K -12 classroom so that they have less than 25 students. Nothing else in this bill. No frills. No Fat. Just improve our kids education. Now.

  • Get Rush Limbaugh off Armed Forces Radio
Rush Limbaugh has a history of denigrating women. For example, he calls strong, independent women 'feminazis'. Our women in the Armed Forces are strong, independent and smart. They deserve better. At a time when so many of these women are raped by their fellow soldiers, we need to stop vilifying women by the radio entertainers like Rush Limbaugh. Let's get him off Armed Forces Radio and support our female troops.

  • Support the Graduated Minimum Wage
We can all agree that the minimum wage is too low to meet cost of living expenses in most states, but blanketly raising it hurts small businesses more than large ones, ultimately stifling competition and further empowering large corporations. We all support a graduated income tax, why not a graduated minimum wage. Large corporations have managed to grossly reduce their effective tax rate due to voter complacency, but would they find the same complacency if they tried to lower their employees wages? Most small businesses usually pay over min. wage as is. So simply raising it may not obligate them to pay more than they already are, while requiring the larger corps. that do pay the minimum to catch up. HOWEVER: graduating it nullifies the largely false argument that small businesses can't afford the wage raise, and still protects them in that their *perceived obligation* to pay above the minimum can still be met. This is not in contradiction to the minimum wage raise to $9.80 (~$20k/yr for full-time, it's about time), it's just for the big-box employees' minimum wages to rise to $11+/hr too.
