  • Health Care in America—Change is Necessary
Health care in the United States is sorely lacking. Politicians have claimed medical cannabis has no medical value despite growing evidence and scientific studies documenting otherwise. Medical cannabis DOES have medical value—hundreds of physicians are converging upon Tucson, AZ, in April of 2012 to get continuing education credits sanctioned by the American Medical Association. Science is progressing. It is time for politicians and our government to be accountable to their voters' health and health care decisions. Accountability 4:2012

  • Require Health Insurance Companies to pay a realistic amount for Out-of-Network Service
Health insurance companies reached a settlement in 2009 with NYS requiring them to set up a data base to determine how much to reimburse for those policies that provided for out-of-network service. The insurance industry spent $90 million to create this data base. But since they were not obligated to use it, they are now basing their reimbursement amounts on Medicare rates, which are much lower.

  • Unexceptable unemployment rate
I am a union electrician who is still facing heavy unemployment rates. I live in NYC and 405 which is 350 after taking out federal tax is not an exceptable amount to even pay for the roof over your head. I am pushing for a higher unemployment rate of cash for the most expensive city too live in.

  • Save the Postal Service for all Americans
In 2006 the Republican Congress under George W. Bush got congress to make the Postal Service Pay for the Health Benefits of retirees, for 75 years ahead, in 10 years. No business, public or private does this. Other than that the P.O. has had an operating surplus since.

  • Student Loan Forgiveness Act
If Congress doesn't pass the "student loan" act that is before it, loan interest payments will be increased by July 1, 2012. There are many people still unemployed, going to school is the only way many of us will be afforded new occupations. On-the-job training is a thing of the past, unless you are fresh out of high school, even so employers are looking for employees who are proficient in their working skills. Make your voice count now and for those who will be coming along in the future!

  • Keep us on Daylight Savings Time
Is anyone else sick of falling back and springing ahead? Is it still relevant for the US to switch their clocks? Many countries do not observe it and even in the US certain states and counties within the states do not practice it. It causes more confusion than good. It messes with your circadian rhythm. Kids have difficulty with the adjustment. It just feels like an antiquated ritual that needs to end.

  • No More Homeless Children
I work at a Homeless center in San Diego and I found out that in addition to all of these thousands of people sleeping on the streets, there are also families with little children out there! There is one parking lot where families can park their cars in a relatively safe place for the night with their kids. It is just the most unjustifiable horror that I can imagine for those kids. And look at all of the homes sitting vacant in our city. This is the lowest of the low for our country. At the age of 60 I have never seen so much greed and selfishness! We have to help these kids! NOW!
