• Keep financial aid for hair stylists, mechanics, chefs, and truck drivers.
Rich politicians from the Senate Committee on Education are ending financial aid for women and low income students. The committee consists of rich attorneys who cannot relate to Joe the Plummer or Harriet the Hair Dresser. Their kids don't qualify for financial aid so they are attacking schools with high women and minority enrollments. STOP THEM NOW or YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO AFFORD COLLEGE. They are targeting YOU!

  • Let’s get WGY radio in NY's Capital District back to community radio
WGY used to be a community oriented radio station. It is now just a right-wing, hate-filled mouthpiece for the right-wing fanatics.

  • Reduce Legislation Years
We must repeal how long a Congressman or woman should be elected to help this country survive. They should serve only two terms of four years each.

  • Stop Michigan Republican Abuse of "Immediate Action" Clause
Michigan's Republican legislature has used the "immediate action" clause to pass over 550 laws since January. This clause was intended for a natural disaster or like event. Currently, Michigan Republicans are using this clause to pass bills contrary to the formal legislative process. Please sign this petition to tell Michigan Republican legislators to start following the proper legal process. Some sources indicate that every law passed could be legally challenged for validity. Governor Snider and his Republican zealots are out of control and need to know that the state belongs to all its residents not just big business.

  • Corporations are >not< 'People.'
The US Bill of Rights does not read "We the Corporations," it reads "We the PEOPLE." A key element to the Citizen's United debate is the false notion that corporations are entitled to free speech equal to that of a US citizen. Many other perversions of democracy currently being asserted fall from this same false premise. A 'corporation' is >only< a hypothetical legal construct created for the purpose of organizing capital and managing business liability. Nothing more. This fact needs to be re-asserted in current political awareness.

Warren Buffett published in Times Magazine a challenge to all Republicans in congress that he would match any donation they made from their salaries to reduce the federal deficit, dollar for dollar. In addition, he will match any donation from Mitch McConnell three to one.

  • Move to Amend
It's about an existing petition, the Move to Amend the U.S. Constitution to say that Corporations ARE NOT People, and that Money is not the same thing as Freedom of Speech. This would help put people back in charge of our Democracy instead of the big corporations, big banks, and richest 1%.

  • Institute term limis for Congress
American politicians, special interests and lobbyists continue to combat term limits, as they know term limits force out career politicians who are more concerned with their own gain than the interests of the American people.
