Constitutional Amendment to change election cycle and processAmendment would: 1. End the unproductive cycle of politicians spending their time and efforts to raise funds and achieve support for their re-elections instead spending their time and efforts to work with others to solve problems facing the US and its citizens, especially our growing deficit and debt; and, tax code. 2. Reduce the negative influence that special interest groups, lobbyists and big donors have on our elected officials’ words and actions; and, on the legislative process. 3. Give US citizens, especially children, a break from very negative campaigns, which occurs every two years and demonstrates how terribly grown-ups, candidates and their supporters, may act in order to gain election or re-election or power. 4. Our current elections’ cycle and process does not promote elected officials to work together: but, instead fosters division, polarization and grid lock due to politicians being more concerned about maintaining power and position by any means necessary instead of acting honorably, decently, reasonably and responsibly with other elected officials, regardless of party affiliations, for the best interests of US citizens and our great country.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Timothy Adams

Safeguarding the rights of parents of Deaf childrenDeafness is a non life threatening occurance. Parents should not be required by biased courts to force their children to wear hearing aids or cochlear implants one of which is elective surgery. Parental rights should never be taken away based on the idea that oral learning is the ONLY way to acquire language. Sign language is as viable a way to learn about the world as any oral language. Stop forcing Deaf children to conform to a hearing environment if they choose not to.37 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Judith McLaughlin

student loan forgiveness petitiondear mr. president: my name is sandra saucedo, i would like to please ask you to push for the loan forgiveness petition . particularly for women that stayed home like me. for i stayed home in order to raise a family, yet still continued to take one class at a time in order to achieve my goal of receiving a degree. however, taking one class a semester took me decades because i dedicated my life to care for my boys and family. now that my boys are older i decided to go back to school full time and get a loan. i am 47 years old and even though i had always worked in and outside my home, i have no retirement plan (because i had always worked part time in order to have time to care for my children) nor a health plan. it is time women that stayed home and contribute to our community, for i had always worked in the pta's of schools, i never missed a field trip and always advocated for children whose parents worked and could not be at school to speak on behalf of their children, should be rewarded and not penalized for staying home while working part time and building a better future for our children that will be an asset to society. staying home also allowed me to made sure my boys learned about art, music and sciences. reasons why my older son was at the age of 12 a youth ambassador in the people to people program promoting peace in the world. my second child was a tutor and all around athlete, and my youngest son is the captain of his soccer team at school and takes university classes in the summer. as i am about to enter my 50s and most of my life has been devoted to my children and family, i continue to go to school and have a huge debt due to my studies that i do not know if i will be able to pay it off and be able to retire by the time i am 65. please advocate for us, for women are the most precious resource of our humanity and in this 21st century we are still treated as second class citizens, as bell hooks eloquently says not only because we are women, but also because we are people of color. family is an important aspect of my culture because home is where values and self esteem are cultivated in order to keep our children away from the jails that are built faster than schools. warmly, sandra saucedo1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by sandra saucedo

GET IT FROM THOSE WHO CAN GIVE ITGet what? Revenue to run our country. Increase Taxes on the income of those who have a surplus.Think of the situation as though it were a blood drive, and pretend we had an America where every citizen cared about every other. Good citizens who had a surplus of healthy blood would happily donate some of their blood to fellow citizens who were desperately in need of blood. The sick and anemic would not be pressed to give blood. Neither should the struggling poor in America be forced to give a disproportionate portion of their meagre income to support the counry. It is outrageous that our corrupt tax laws force the poor to be taxed at a much higher rate than the enormously wealthy.7 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Joe Clark

Tennis Courts: Access and Common Area Rules ChangeThe current Common Area Rule (Revised March 2012) for the use of The Met tennis courts requires owners to gain access to the courts by either (1) going to the HOA office during business hours or (2) the security desk at the main entrance on Canoga Avenue as a result of the HOA decision to install locks on all of the courts. The courts were previously unlocked and available to all owners during available hours as a paid amenity (HOA fee).58 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Valerie Bakst

Iowa Prisons and Jails Allow Hijab for Muslim WomenMuslim women are stripped of their modesty and forced to remove the hijab (headcovering) and modest clothes, forced to wear tight-fitting uniforms that reveal the body shape and bare the arms, neck, ankles, and hair, and have their mugshot taken and blasted all over the web.125 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Kaylynn Strain

Stop Agent Orange-resistant cornDow Chemical used to manufacture Agent Orange, an herbicide and defoliant, for use in the Vietnam War. The nation of Vietnam estimates that 400,000 people were sickened by this long-lasting chemical, while 500,000 children with birth defects were born to exposed parents. Now, Dow is asking the USDA to approve genetically modified corn that's resistant to Agent Orange. What's worse, this corn is being offered to replace corn resistant to pesticides like RoundUp. Intense RoundUp use has created superweeds that RoundUp can't kill. So now they need something different to spray on the crops, at least for a while, and they want to try making the food we eat resistant to Agent Orange, which seems like a terrible, goddamn idea.32 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Ellen E. Do the owners of these radio stations have no respect at all for their wives, mothers, daughters, or sisters? Please show the owners of all radio stations that broadcast the Rush Limbaugh Show that you want them to take him off the air.
