GOAL - 1 MILLION + PEOPLE!! My name is Josh Evans. I live in Springfield, Missouri. I feel that we need to improve the ways schools and families handle their kids. I believe that schools SHOULD NOT let the kids out of the building, unless a parent or legal guardian is there waiting for them. My thought is that if parents or guardians pick up their child, a faculty member stands outside and one by one dispatches a child to exit the building. If every school in the U.S. did that, children and students would be so much safer. I'm just wanting to get this out to government, and have them MAKE A STAND and KEEP OUR KIDS SAFE. The people of Iran are suffering from run away inflationdue to the embargo that the U.S. and Israel have been persuading countries throughout the world to adopt. This is no way to win the hearts of the Iranian people over. We are calling on national leaders to disarm the nuclear capabilities of Israel, India, Pakistan, Turkey, and Kazakhstan as a true path to peace in the Middle East.

Federal employees are depending and have paid into their retirement benefits for most of their careers, pension should not be taken from them!

Working families across New York State need the security of paid time off to care for a new child or seriously ill family member. For too many workers, the birth of a child or family health emergency creates a crisis that forces them to lose needed income or exit the workforce altogether. Low-income workers and their families are especially vulnerable because they often lack the financial resources to take any unpaid time off at all. Paid family leave improves the health of our families. It helps workers, especially new mothers, stay in the workforce after childbirth and helps close the wage gap. And businesses benefit by having more productive workers and reduced turnover. The federal Family and Medical Leave Act is unpaid and excludes more than 40% of all workers. The Paid Family Leave Insurance Act for New York State would provide workers with partial payment of their salary for up to 12 weeks to bond with a new child, care for a seriously ill family member, or address certain issues arising from a family member’s military service. Employers would not bear the cost of this benefit. Instead, paid family leave insurance benefits would be funded by employees through small paycheck contributions. Working families in New York deserve better. It’s time for Governor Cuomo to follow in California’s, New Jersey’s, and Rhode Island's footsteps and make paid family leave a priority now! I implore you fine ladies and gentlemen, to pass the heath care Bill. Two years ago, I was working for DNC at Yosemite National Park, as a Chef. I have worked for the company for a year and half in the year 2008, and I decided that I love cooking so much I was going to get my Culinary Degree. First I had a Criminal Justice degree, and I went out there to work for the security, for the park. The jobs were full and I got a dishwashing job, and in three months I was a Chef at the Ahwahnee Hotel. Then in five months I became a asst. manager at the Degnan's pizza loft. The Executive Chef Percy, took me under his wing. I went back to Tennessee, which is my home state, and I started my Culinary Degree. I went back to Yosemite National Park to do my externship, but they couldn't hire me until the fall of 2010. I got a job at White Wolf High Camp as a Chef for the summer. The company does not give insurance until you work for them in six months. I lost all my seniority after being gone for over a year. I was three days away from doing my externship and the unimaginable happened. I fractured my left ankle and foot. It’s been two years now and I am still in horrible pain. The doctors keep telling to go to a pain clinic, but I don’t want to get hooked on pain pills. I want my left ankle fixed, so I go back to work. I can’t stand over five minutes without putting my foot up or taking off my shoes. I sit and watch TV, and I am still in pain. The doctors said since I won’t go to the pain clinics, I should sign up for Disability. I have signed up in July, and I am still waiting for a approval, so I can get insurance to be fixed. I can't get a job, because I keep getting fired or forced to quit. They can see that am in horrible pain. If the ObamaCare was in effect in 2000, I would be fixed and back to work. That’s all I want. If I am on disability soon, I will be taking the tax payers money. I don’t want that, but I will do what I have to. Just to go back to cooking and I love to Cook. I have cooked since I was 15-years-old. I know that I need at least four surgeries, to be fixed and go back to work. This might take about one to two years and maybe a little more, and then I am back to work. I am not a lazy American, as you see I made it to management in five months. Chef Percy did what I did in five years, and I got the nickname little Chef Percy. Please consider Americans like me. If the bill does not pass, may I ask for your help and advise on how to get fixed and find help on getting insurance. I get denied every two months on TENNcare, the state insurance here. Please Help ME.

Governor Jindal (Louisiana) is redirecting $75,000,000 of Road Home funding to the Superdome Arena, after spending more than $100,000,000 for Hurricane Katrina related repairs. Road Home funds was intended for Citizens to rebuild and get back into their homes after Hurricane Katrina. Many Families STILL have not recevied assistance to return to their homes. We are demanding that the Governor and Legislature use these funds for the Citizens of New Orleans its intended purpose.

To create demand for American made products we want all local, state and federal purchases for construction, maintanance, and supplies be at least sixty percent made in USA, with a goal of at least 90 percent by Jan. 1, 2015. This includes School districts and all city, state and national purchases for office supplies, building and maintenance.

The amount paid toward a student loan's principal should be a tax deduction, not just the interest. This simple idea will encourage people to get an education to make America better. This idea will also put more money in the consumers' pocket and help grow our economy. Everyone with a student loan and the entire American economy will benefit from this plan.
