• Waterstone Subdivision
The City of Grants Pass is asking that we pay the difference toward improvements on Hubbard Lane in which this issue was never addressed by title companies and or developers. This creates hardship & anxieties to most of us due to hard financial times who are on a limited buget. I can't believe that they would want to invest hundreds of thousands of dollars on curbs, sidewalks, etc. when our police department suffers, our schools suffer, our homeless suffer, and our taxes continue to increase along with gas prices. The city of medford had a similar issue in which the City Council sided with the home owners. we are asking that our City council do the same for us.

  • Raising the Driving Age to 18.
I believe we should raise the age to 18 so to prevent death in thousands of immature teens behind the wheel. This has personally changed my life and needs to be addressed.

  • Stimson Middle School Sports
I am a 6th Grade student in the district and I am currently aware that Middle School sports have recently been cut from our budget. We are the only district in the surrounding area to cut middle school sports. Teens who participate in physical activity are proven to perform better in school . Children and teens should exercise for at least 60 minutes EACH DAY. Many teens will not reach this mark especially because we do not have Physical Education classes daily.

The Town of Carolina Shores is considering approving the removal of almost a thousand trees from the Carolina Shores Golf Course. Many of these trees are shading the golf course, but many more of them maybe even the majority, in no way shade the golf course. Let the town and the golf course that we want to protect our trees, protect our environment, and protect our property values!

  • A Gift to Social Security
As a SENIOR I would like to contribute back into the Social Security Trust with a GIFT. Every April on TAX day, I would to send a separate check to the TRUST. There are approximately 50 million Seniors and 50 million babyboomers that could leave a yearly GIFT to their children and grandchildren.

  • Pat Robertson: Apologize for telling sexual abuse victims they can "consent" to what they endured
From at least 1996 to 2012, the Christian Broadcasting Network had a teaching paper on its Website which suggested victims of sexual abuse and molestation could "consent" to what happened to them and "allow (themselves) to be molested"--thus suggesting it is somehow the victims' fault. It also told anyone who suspected child abuse to talk to a minister before doing anything else, even though virtually every state requires those who suspect abuse to report it. The paper was taken down in March 2012, but CBN and its longtime chairman, Pat Robertson, have yet to apologize for it. We're calling for Robertson to issue a full apology for spitting in the face of victims of sexual abuse.

  • Equal Treatment of Controlled Substances
President Obama's administration upheld Marijuana as a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance. Where is the fair treatment for Nicotine in Cigarettes. Reclassify Nicotine as a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance. This would be a balanced treatment since it too meets the criteria.

  • Baby Boomers for Immigration Reform
The Republicans and the Obama Administration have been responsible for the breakup of thousands of families in the US. Because of draconian laws and political expediency, the federal government has put American citizens in the most unthinkable situation: that of losing a spouse through the caprice of government action. Many American citizens in this situation have no choice but to leave their lives in the US behind in order to keep their families together. Many cannot leave and have no recourse but to stay and wait for our politicians to change the laws. As baby boomers of adult children caught up in these tragic circumstances, our lives have been profoundly affected by these government actions, as the people involved are our in-laws, children, and grandchildren. This is a time that we should be preparing for retirement, not helping our children with the expense incurred by this tragic situation. We would simply like for our children to get their lives back and be free to live with their spouses and children here in the US.

  • Make Vermont Label GMO Foods
Vermont is facing a lawsuit threat from Monsanto in regards to a bill that would force genetically engineered food to be appropriately labeled (H-722). The bill has yet to be voted on, but it has the majority of public approval. We are calling on the Vermont Legislature to side with the public and face Monsanto. The people have a right to know what they are eating and where their food comes from. For some, it is an ethical imperative to know how their food was produced as we move toward a sustainable globalized future. We have until the beginning of May to have this bill voted on, at which point the legislative session ends.
