Get rid of Daylight saving time. What purpose does it serve today? I cant think of anything that it makes better by adjusting an hour ahead or back. Back in the day I believe it served the purpose of farmers able to harvest their crops earlier or something to that effect. But what good is it, especially when it starts getting dark at 5:30 and you just got off work less than a half hour ago. Let get rid of a ritual that is outdated and useless.

Stop police from shooting innocent people. For police to use rubber bullets, to stun and disable, but not KILL! There are so many different ways to stun someone, without actually killing them. I would like on a FEDERAL level for there to be a change in the way Police stop acting like bullies, and start treating people with more dignity. Use other methods unless their lives are clearly in danger and can prove it. A gun held in their face...if not, rubber bullets need to be used more often, or the bean bag method. Stun the person enough that they lose their force and are not dangering others, but that the Police are not shooting and killing kids and adults. STOP ENDLESS KILLING!

That is so they can claim it for themselves and rip off the American public. Congress, under the Bush administration caused the Postal Service great problems by enacting a law requiring it to prefund future retiree health benefits through the year 2075 and doing it all within a 10 year period. That means that the Postal Service has to put 5.5 Billion dollars into the Treasury on Sept. 1 every year. It starts its fiscal year $5-1/2billion in the red or $55Billion by 2916, That is absurd and no other company or agency in America is mandated to do anything even close to that. The Postal Service has also overpaid into the Civil Service and Federal Employee Health funds over the past 40+ years due to an accounting error to the tune of around $75billion. This has absolutely been documented by the GAO and the OIG. Congress can fix the Postal Service by suspending the future payments and returning at least a portion of the money it is owed. Nothing else needs to be done, except maybe to get rid of about 60% of the management staff which is way overbloated with friends and relatives of higher ups. Congress needs to know America wants the same, only better, Postal Service it has come to expect for the last thousand years. SAVE AMERICA'S POSTAL SERVICE. Thank you.

Since we were "tricked" into taking God out of our schools nearly fifty years ago our schools have deteriorated to standards of low academic performance, high crime rates, and some areas report that only half of our students are graduating from high school. All of this while we know that education is the foundation of our American society. Is it a coincidence that our education system is steadily crumbling while we refuse to return to where we went astray? I don't think so! America, it is time to get Humble and be Courageous! Let's Return Prayer to our Schools! What do we have to loose? Or, should I say, "What else can we afford to loose"?

In New Brunswick,NJ police racially profiled, illegaly searched & falsely arrested an innocent man. That man filed complaints with Internal Affairs but the police were not charged or disciplined. One year later the same police fatally shot an unarmed man & tried to cover it up with help from the corrupt administration. We need the D.O.J. to investigate this corruption to help stop these injustices!!!

Our weather and natural disasters make us vulnerable to loss of life, simply because we did not require green technology in in building codes. The cost of not having power is well documented and loss of life due to lack of electricity is immeasurable. How many seniors die during the coldest and hottest months because they could not run a fan or a safe radient heater? I propose Greening building codes to require all new construction include enough green technology, such that the benefit/savings account for 25% of the estimated standard requirement for the building, to include both commercial and residential. The requirement for Hospitals, in-patient facilities, assisted living facilities, and the like, should require that 50% minimum of energy requirements be met with off the grid technology.

My petition is about equal protection under the law. Trayvon Martin is dead; Trayvon Martin's body was drug tested, but George Zimmerman, Trayvon Martin's alleged murderer, has yet to be tested for alcohol or drugs.George Zimmerman has not be arrested, or even detained. If black teenager Trayvon Martin had killed George Zimmerman, young Trayvon Martin would now either be in solitary confinement in a maximum security Florida prision, or he'd have been killed by the police or self-appointed whilte vigilantes.

In 1997 the fairness doctrine was abolished. Since then, things we used to call facts are now only viewed as opinions. No one can truly understand an issue if they are continually presented with only one side of an issue. Since 1997, the growth of hate radio has encouraged divisiveness and hatred instead of community and commonality of thought. We have become polarized and see only one side of every story. Those who wish to control the conversation use fear, anger, envy and prejudice to reinforce their ideas. Ignorance has made a few very shallow men very powerful. It's time we all heard the other side...of every issue.
