• Emergency Food Bank Program
An estimated 1 in 5 children in Iowa does not get enough food at home. Food banks have seen a 30-50% increase in demand. Support Senate File 2291, a bill introduced by Senator Jeff Danielson, D-Cedar Falls, that would help launch a $2 million program (0.03% of the state budget) to stock food banks when supplies run low.

  • Against Moms Who Keep Kids Away From Dads
To bring awareness and resolution to Dads being denied to be fathers to their child(ren) they love. Our hopes and prayers are that a legislative body (Federal or State) re-exam policies regarding calculation of child support, insuring custodial parent adheres to the visitation order, and reinforce the importance of Dad's involvement.

  • Heart and Lung Act for Correctional Officers
I would like the State Legislature to include the Heart and Lung Act for Correctional Officers who work for the Department of Corrections. At this time they are not included and their jobs are just as critical as a Police Officer and Fireman duties. They put their lives on the line everyday and there is not provision in the Heart and Lung Act including them.

  • Democratize Energy in Vermont
This petition is in support of smaller community owned and based wind and solar electrical generation, as opposed to large industrial corporate owned wind and solar electrical generation. If you favor retrofitting existing structures with solar and wind generation rather than altering ridge lines, animal habitat, water systems and more with large industrial solar and wind, this petition is for you.

  • REPEAL THE IOWA "AG GAG BILL" AND STOP FARM ANIMAL ABUSE
Republicans have passed a bill In Iowa that literally makes it illegal to film farm animal abuse. This bill enables farm workers to mistreat their animals by granting farmers ridiculous privacy rights. Tell the Iowa lawmakers that farms need SURPRISE INSPECTIONS in order to keep animal abuse under control. ANY ABUSE, whether it be animals, children, the elderly etc....SHOULD NEVER BE ACCEPTABLE IN A CIVILIZED SOCIETY. If farmers or those who have animals have nothing to hide, then what are they afraid of?

  • Save the 1st Amendment
H.R. 347 was nearly unanimously voted in to law by the Senate and House of Representatives. It now heads to Capitol Hill for Obama's approval or veto. H.R. 347 means the end of the 1st Amendment and the end of our right to dissent or protest the policies of our elected government, by making those actions felonies punishable by imprisonment. It must be stopped. Read it here: http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/BILLS-112hr347enr/pdf/BILLS-112hr347enr.pdf

  • Save South Carolina Retirement Pension System
The South Caroina Retirement System is threatened for teachers as well as other state employees. It should not be touched. Workers have invested in the system and for many, it is a lifesaver. Hence, many are counting on it to be there and why shouldn't our money be there? We already know that one can't rely on Social Security alone upon retirement. Don't let legislators squander this money away as well.
